Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of new products and the perception of lower quality in recycled goods. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation regarding 'grown of technology' is slightly unclear, and the solutions could be more deeply explored beyond government intervention. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis remains at a basic level, which prevents it from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by more detailed reasoning or specific, well-explained examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with,' 'Moreover,' and 'On the other hand,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In this way' or 'To explain this.' Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is consistently clear throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'industries departments' and 'authority,' though some word choices are imprecise or non-standard, such as 'fresh or newly products' instead of 'new products' or 'fresh goods.' The phrase 'rulling party' is also a spelling error. While the range is sufficient to communicate the main points, it lacks the flexibility and precision required for a higher band. Focusing on collocations and more natural phrasing would significantly enhance the quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's flow. Examples include 'most of the humans believe,' 'production of every items,' 'grown of technology,' and 'it would be not work.' Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score. To improve, focus on proofreading for common errors like pluralization, verb forms, and the correct use of articles, as well as practicing more complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
