Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation regarding 'lack of motivation' is brief and lacks depth. The example provided about the 2019 article is vague and does not clearly link to the argument. While the solutions (campaigns, bins, fines) are relevant, they are presented in a list-like fashion rather than being fully elaborated. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and concrete, well-integrated examples for each point raised.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To exemplify', 'Another aspect', and 'First and foremost'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To add, also provide'. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, it is not immediately obvious what the 'ratio' refers to. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'multifarious', 'regime', and 'authorities'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors that hinder precision. For example, 'positivity amongst people' is vague, 'regime' is incorrectly used to refer to government policy, and 'needy one' is an unnatural way to describe government initiatives. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the main message, the lack of precision and occasional misuse of words prevent a higher score. Expanding your range of collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, they often contain grammatical errors, such as 'when regime provide excessive amount of knowledge by campaign teach them adequately'. There are frequent errors in article usage ('the western part of India'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence fragments. For example, 'Another aspect could be controversial because of not involvement of the council' is grammatically incorrect. These errors are noticeable and occasionally require the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning, though they do not completely impede communication.
