Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, recycling litter is major concerns in my country. however, people in my nations do not recycle their rubbish as much as they are being told. There are so many reasons for this act and what measures should be taken is explained further in the essay.
One of the major reasons is that public is not aware about the consequences that have to faced in latter life. This means that if waste is not properly recycled, they will have to face environmental disasters. It can cause global warming that increases the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere lead to difficulty in breathing. Moreover, plastic usage is quite increased in my country but people are not aware about the proper disposal of plastic that can threaten even wildlife. Although governments already kept different colored containers according to the type of the waste , people residing in my country are lazy and are not following the rules of how to recycle the waste.
To address this , several measures should be taken in consideration to change the mentality of people's mind. Local campaign or awareness program has to introduced in order to educate people. Moreover, one practical session has to be arranged instead of only theoritical knowledge. This means that governments imposed laws that allow people to participate in the local cleanliness drive and acknowledge by the government. In addition, recycling the waste in proper manner is also important factor for that private or government employees have to look after.
In conclusion, people should recycle the waste as much as possible because that will be beneficial for the society even for the nations. Attending campaign and participating in the cleanliness drives would be beneficial for the people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as lack of awareness and the need for practical education. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why people are 'lazy' is not fully explored, and the solutions are a bit vague. The essay maintains a clear position, but the depth of analysis could be improved by providing more specific examples or concrete evidence to support the claims. Overall, it meets the requirements of the task but remains at a basic level of development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'Although', and 'In addition', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. There are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted by grammatical errors, such as in the sentence 'To address this, several measures should be taken in consideration to change the mentality of people's mind.' While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the referencing and sentence-level cohesion could be more sophisticated to achieve a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. The student uses basic terms like 'litter', 'rubbish', and 'waste' repeatedly. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'major concerns' instead of 'a major concern' and 'mentality of people's mind', which is redundant. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder readability. Examples include 'public is not aware about the consequences that have to faced' (passive voice error) and 'governments imposed laws that allow people to participate' (tense inconsistency). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While the errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to suggest a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct tense usage would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
