In today's world, most of the people believe that over the past years in many countries , recycling their rubbish collection has been decreased . In this essay, I will state my viewpoints and the proactive measures to curb this issue in detail.
Firstly, the main reason behind these accumulating waste in every house is due to the sudden changes in individuals lifestyles. Uncontrolled eating habits, and purchasing unnecessary purchasing from every place can increase the rubbish collection . In addition, overuse of mobile phones have created people to more aware about outside world . As a result, an increasing spending habits occurs ,which again bring unnecessary things home. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the link between 'overuse of mobile phones' and 'increased waste' is not clearly explained, making the argument difficult to follow. The solutions provided, such as 'offer more rubbish bins', are relevant but lack depth or specific examples of how these would be implemented effectively. To improve, you should focus on expanding your arguments with clearer logical steps and more concrete, well-explained examples rather than listing general observations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'would be identical to solve' are confusing and do not effectively link ideas. Additionally, some sentences lack logical flow, such as the transition between mobile phone usage and waste accumulation. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'Firstly', 'In addition', and 'However', the overall progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, which hinders the clarity of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'unnecessary purchasing from every place' and 'rubbish departments'. The repetition of 'rubbish collection' and 'unnecessary' suggests a limited range. Furthermore, some collocations are unnatural, such as 'has seeing in Canada'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to environmental issues and work on improving your collocation skills to ensure your writing sounds more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('overuse of mobile phones have created'), incorrect verb forms ('has seeing'), and awkward sentence construction ('there not so advanced rubbish collections seen'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence structure prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and tense consistency would be beneficial.
