Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about people being 'busy' is a common observation but lacks depth. The suggestion regarding 'storage rooms' is a bit vague and could have been better explained in terms of how it specifically incentivizes recycling. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments are not fully extended, and the reliance on a specific, likely invented, survey ('Dr Richard brown') is not the most effective way to support an argument in an IELTS task. To improve, focus on providing more detailed, logical explanations for your points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'To vindicate' are used incorrectly in this context, and 'In addition to,' is left hanging without an object. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, such as the jump from busy schedules to the cost of garbage disposal. While the overall progression is discernible, the lack of precise linking words and the occasional awkward phrasing make the flow feel somewhat disjointed. Improving the variety and accuracy of transition signals would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'mortals' instead of 'people' or 'citizens', and 'prediominanat' (spelling error). The phrase 'garbage as much they need to do' is unnatural. You attempt some less common vocabulary, but the collocation is often off, such as 'weekly bases' instead of 'weekly basis'. To reach a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that your word choices are appropriate for a formal essay. Avoid overly dramatic or archaic terms like 'mortals'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and spelling that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'cleanliness holds the paramount significance in everyone life' (missing possessive 'everyone's'), 'donot' (repeated spelling error), and '65% increases is seen who recycle'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb forms and sentence construction.
