Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary eon, without any qualms it is accepted that recycling is a good source to prevent environment. There are several causes in the favour of that person who do not recycle their things. However, a few remedies could offer to tackle this issue. Both views will be depicted in the upcoming paragraphs with relevant examples.

On the one hand, in various states, humans are busy in their work or in their personal doings. So, they do not prefer to recycle things like bottles, cans, and other stuff. Furthermore, it takes time as well as energy to sort recyclable things from garbage. Because of this, individuals think that it is quite easy to throw all the garbage together, which saves their time and money. For instance, in numerous places, people have to buy and pay for all the bins, they have at their homes or give fine if humans do not throw garbage according to its colour.

On the contrary, several steps can be taken in order to handle this situation. The paramount concrete solution should be done by government. Additionally, it is administration’s duty to make a clean and green country by giving free bins to all the families, who is legally registered their house. Apart from this, penalty is a good idea to force people to do their task by following all the rules and regulations. Not only this , strict action should be required when human beings will break rules related to garbage.

To conclude, it can be reiterated that there are innumerable facts considering the ignorance of humans regarding recycling things. Nevertheless, little efforts could be helpful to solve this issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation regarding why people do not recycle is limited to 'time and energy' and the cost of bins. The solutions are also quite general, focusing primarily on government intervention. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate on the underlying psychological or systemic barriers to recycling. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis is consistent with a Band 6 level, as some points are under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand,' 'On the contrary,' and 'To conclude' to signal the structure. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'In this contemporary eon' or 'In the favour of that person.' Referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words rather than relying on standard transition markers. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main parts of the prompt.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, but there are several instances of unnatural word choice and collocation errors. Phrases like 'prevent environment' (should be 'protect the environment'), 'personal doings,' and 'innumerable facts' are either imprecise or awkward. While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the lack of precision in these choices limits your score. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—rather than just individual synonyms. The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your meaning, but it lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'who do not recycle their things' (should be 'who do not recycle'), 'who is legally registered their house' (incorrect relative clause and passive voice usage), and 'strict action should be required when human beings will break rules' (incorrect tense usage). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of relative clauses.
