Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The essay presents a clear understanding of the task. However, it lacks sufficient depth in both the reasons for not recycling and the proposed solutions. The points made, such as laziness and convenience of plastics, are relevant, but the discussion is superficial and not elaborated clearly. The conclusion is incomplete, which detracts from the overall task fulfillment. Therefore, while the student's intentions are recognized, the response does not fully meet the criteria for Task Achievement. Overall, this aligns with a band score of 5 for Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The coherence and cohesion of the essay are evident in the logical progression of ideas. However, transitions and linking words could be improved. Phrases like "In addition" are used, but the overall flow is interrupted by errors and unclear wording, such as "make many letter which could recycle". The paragraph structure is basic, lacking varied cohesive devices, which affects clarity. Overall, the response can be rated as a Band 5 for coherence and cohesion, as it presents ideas but lacks smooth transitions.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource is somewhat limited, with frequent use of basic vocabulary. Phrases like "make use of a lot of plastic bags" and "they would throw them away" reflect a basic level of linguistic capability. There are several spelling errors (e.g., "litters" instead of "litter" and "besefit" instead of "benefit") which impact understanding. To enhance lexical resource, the writer should consider varying word choice and using more precise terms. Overall, this response aligns with Band 5 for Lexical Resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The grammatical range is limited, demonstrated by simple sentence structures and numerous grammatical errors, such as incorrect verb forms and subject-verb agreement issues. Phrases like "are not recycled by individuals in many nations" are awkwardly structured, and there are errors in how sentences are constructed, reducing clarity and readability. Although some complex structures are attempted, they are often flawed. This performance suggests a Band 5 for Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
