Student answer (Band 6.0)

In these modern era, pollution has becoming increase day by day in the world. People do not recycle their rubbish as much as they could. In my opinion, there are many reasons behind it. I will give possible measure that can be done to change this issues. I will explain it with certain facts and examples in the further paragraph.

To start with, there are many reasons for people do not recycle their house waste in the trash bin. Firstly, government distribute small trash bins to the country and it will often full in two days. Therefore, people are throw trash in the landfill and pollute it more. Secondly, people have knowledge about the recycle waste is useful but they do not have enough skills that throw waste in the separate bins. If recycling bins are not easily available in homes, workplaces, and public areas, people may simply throw everything into the same bin. Busy lifestyles can also make people less willing to spend time sorting their rubbish.

However, there are many measures that they could done to change this situation. To begin, government should spread awareness about the how and why people need to recycle their waste as much as possible. In addition, schools, business and private college should educate local people about recycle process and encourage them to used trash bins. Furthermore, government should install wending machine , where people use to throw plastics bottle and cans and machine will count bottles and cans and give money for that.

In closing that, there are many reasons that people do not recycle their house waste because they are busy in their life and they does not have accurate knowledge about the separate bins. On the other hand, there are some solution to resolve this problem such as install wending machine and educate people.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the lack of infrastructure and the need for public awareness. However, the development is somewhat limited. For example, the point about 'busy lifestyles' is mentioned but not fully explored. The introduction is a bit repetitive, and the conclusion is slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more specific examples or elaborate further on the consequences of the issues mentioned to ensure a more thorough discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To start with', 'Firstly', 'In addition', and 'However', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In closing that'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'they' in the third paragraph, where the antecedent is not immediately obvious. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, but the flow could be improved with more varied and natural linking phrases.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the message to be conveyed clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'landfill', 'pollution', and 'recycling process'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'pollution has becoming increase' instead of 'pollution has been increasing' and 'wending machine' instead of 'vending machine'. The range is somewhat limited, and there is a reliance on basic vocabulary. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring correct word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('pollution has becoming', 'people is throw', 'they does not have') and incorrect verb forms ('they could done', 'encourage them to used'). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not completely impede communication. Increasing the accuracy of basic sentence structures should be your priority.
