Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the lack of public awareness and the role of financial incentives. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the examples of Costco and H&M are specific, the explanation of why people do not recycle is a bit thin and could have been expanded further. The position is clear throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that the reasons provided are explored with more depth rather than just listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and the foremost', 'Apart from this', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. There are also minor issues with referencing; for example, the phrase 'make most out of it' in the introduction is vague and lacks a clear antecedent. Overall, the progression of ideas is coherent, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task, though the flow could be smoother with more varied linking phrases.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'sustainable', 'durable', and 'optimistically'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'enormous nations' (likely meaning 'many countries') and 'overcomed' (which is a non-standard form of 'overcome'). The phrase 'inaugurated for the all age individuals' is also slightly awkward. While the meaning is never in doubt, the range is limited, and the errors prevent a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'can it be solved' (incorrect word order), 'overcomed' (incorrect past participle), and 'can performed' (missing 'be'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are instances of missing articles and awkward phrasing, such as 'for the all age individuals'. While the writer attempts complex structures, the frequency of errors is noticeable. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct formation of passive voice constructions.
