Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, recycle the rubbish helps to reduce the amount of litters across the globe. Even in certain nations, people are still using similar bin for the garbage. There are multiple reasons for this cause and potential solutions to mitigate this ongoing concern which are explained in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, lack of awareness among the society. Individuals are now a days not enough educated to make separate bins for the different types of garbage, as they thrown all the plastics, organics and paper products in the same box. Moreover, they may not know which specific garbage will be recycle. For instance, in India, humans are use general bins for the all types of garbage, because they are not enough aware about the environmental consequence of waste.
There are ways to overcome this situation. Firstly, government should educate their citizens by organizing campaign which include the importance of recycle and the way to reduce the amount of garbage a day. Furthermore, waste management should take some initiatives by providing various bins for the rubbish and also offering home service to collect the garbage once a week. Hence, people use this process more accurately and helps them to understand the importance of reuse and recycle materials. For example, in Canada, ministry of nation are strict about the mix rubbish and imposed the fine to encourage their citizens to make different bins of litters.
To conclude, although insufficient knowledge about waste managements is the key factor of the many countries that not make separate bins, education campaign and offering door to door service of garbage collection are primary solutions to overcome this challenge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the lack of public awareness and the need for government-led initiatives. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why people do not recycle is brief, and the examples provided, while relevant, could be more deeply integrated into the argument. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis remains at a basic level, preventing it from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure that each point is fully extended with more detailed reasoning or consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'Firstly', and 'To conclude' are used to guide the reader through the argument. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'For instance, in India, humans are use general bins'. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall progression of ideas is logical, though the transitions between the problem and the solution could be more sophisticated.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'recycle the rubbish' (instead of 'recycling rubbish'), 'lack of awareness among the society' (instead of 'in society'), and 'mix rubbish' (instead of 'mixed waste'). While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and the student relies on basic terms. To achieve a higher score, the student should focus on using more precise terminology related to environmental issues and improving their grasp of word forms and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'humans are use general bins' (subject-verb agreement), 'they thrown all the plastics' (tense error), and 'ministry of nation are strict' (article and agreement errors). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from being considered error-free. The student needs to focus on basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and subject-verb agreement, to improve clarity and accuracy.
