Student answer (Band 5.0)

In lot of territories the individuals do not recycle their garbage or waste an they can. I think there are some issues of this situation and we can do lot of things to change it. which I will be discussed in next paragraphs.

To commence with, the many masses do not happy to do recycle their rubbish which they can do. For example, they are not using garbage bins to collect waste and they are spreading that on roads and on land. I think the main reason is government is not doing things to teach them about the result of this situation. The second reason, It is going on from several years and people are copying to previous generation. The new generation is learning from the old generation. so these are reasons for this problem.

So now I am going to talk about some salutations that can be fix this problem. The government can play important role to tackle this. The authorities should take action against these type of people they should fix fines. The old generation can be teach to new generation about the recycle rubbish and benefits of it. For example, the schools should provide lecture about this problem to students and hardly older people should follow proper rules of recycling. Moreover, the government should focus on their management for this rubbish and if there is need of any improvement. They should do.

To conclusion, after taking this steps, people will help each other to recycle their rubbish. This will also good lesson for new generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is limited. For instance, the explanation for why people do not recycle—'they are not using garbage bins'—is more of a description of the problem than a root cause. The solutions provided, such as 'take action against these type of people' and 'provide lecture', are somewhat generic and lack depth. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or logical explanations for your arguments, such as discussing the lack of infrastructure or the inconvenience of sorting waste.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'To commence with' and 'To conclusion' are used, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. For example, the jump from 'The second reason' to 'so these are reasons for this problem' lacks a smooth logical flow. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'if there is need of any improvement. They should do,' where the pronoun reference is confusing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'garbage', 'rubbish', and 'things'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'many masses' (which is not standard English), 'salutations' (which means greetings, not solutions), and 'fix fines' (instead of 'impose fines'). To improve, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise terms related to environmental issues, such as 'sustainability', 'waste management', 'infrastructure', or 'public awareness campaigns'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'In lot of territories' (missing articles), 'the many masses do not happy' (incorrect verb/adjective usage), and 'The old generation can be teach to new generation' (incorrect passive voice construction). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors in word order or tense. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, the correct use of articles, and the passive voice, which is essential for formal writing.
