Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often considered that in several nations, the garbage has not been recycled as much as it should be by the citizens. I believe that people do not have a proper education about the negative consequence of rubbish that is not been recycled. The authorities can spread education among individuals by organizing awareness campaigns.
One of the primary reasons why people are not doing proper rubbish recycling is that they do not think it is necessary as they are not aware about the detrimental effects of this on the environment. This is largely because they are not been taught about three Rs reduce, recycle, and reuse. A clear example of this can be seen in India where people throw plastic and other things into the holy river Ganga on the name of worship that is not only polluting the water badly, but it also significantly reducing the number of endangered marine spices. Therefore, it is evident that lack of awareness is a major cause of this issue.
The problem of not recycling garbage cannot be solved unless proper measures are not been taken. A campaign initiated by the government can work effectively to aware people about the benefits of recycling rubbish. For instance, a social media can play a vital role to encourage individuals about proper recycling techniques. In this digital age, every one have smart devices, so posting videos on the Internet regarding the various methods of recycling and its benefits for both individuals and society could be a productive way to minimize this issue.
To conclude, due to lack of knowledge, the problem of rubbish recycling has been increasing, I firmly believe that proper actions taken by the government and followed by the citizen can facilitate to curb this issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the example regarding the river Ganga is relevant, the explanation of 'why' people do not recycle is slightly repetitive, focusing almost exclusively on a lack of education. To reach a higher band, you should explore other factors such as lack of infrastructure, convenience, or government policy. The solutions provided are relevant but could be more detailed to demonstrate a more sophisticated understanding of the issue.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'One of the primary reasons', 'Therefore', and 'To conclude' are used effectively to link ideas. However, the use of referencing is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall structure supports the reader's understanding of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'detrimental effects', 'endangered marine species', and 'curb this issue'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'on the name of worship' (should be 'in the name of') and 'to aware people' (should be 'to make people aware'). The range is sufficient for the task but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that, while they do not impede communication, are noticeable. Examples include 'rubbish that is not been recycled' (should be 'has not been'), 'they are not been taught' (should be 'they are not being taught'), and 'every one have smart devices' (should be 'everyone has'). These errors in verb tense and subject-verb agreement occur throughout the text. Increasing your control over these basic structures is essential for a higher score.
