Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is seen that recycling process is not followed by individual in many nations as much they can. this essay will not only discuss the reasons but also possible solutions that will encourage people to adopt reuse habit.
There are several reasons behind this concern. The most prominent on unawareness about recycling process. Some people do not have sufficient knowledge regarding the reuse process and the adverse effect of these things on environment. For example, some people do not know that they can reuse cans, plastic bottles and plastic bottle. therefore, they just let the material on local places. Another point is inconvenience and inadequate garbage bins on residential sites. people just throw the reuseable material here and there because may they not find accurate place to put the stuff in. Furthermore, some people just follow their convenience attitude as they dispose all the garbage in one bin instead of separated ones.
To Change these habits, authorities should provide awareness campaign to provide valuable information to people they should provide awareness programs in schools so that children know and have recycling habits from very young ages. Apart from this, Government should install different garbage bins with clear instructions what goes in which bin so that people put the garbage accordingly in correct bin. Individuals should adopt the thinking to dispose the trash in separate bins so that recycled material can be recycled with accurate methods.
In conclusion, although lack of awareness and inconvenience services are discouraged individuals to adopt reuse or recycling habits yet if government and individual work together, this attitude can be changed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the lack of awareness and the inconvenience of bin placement. However, the development is somewhat basic. For instance, the explanation regarding 'inconvenience' is repetitive, and the solutions could be more nuanced. While the position is clear, the essay would benefit from more specific examples or a deeper exploration of the underlying causes to reach a higher band. Overall, all parts of the task are addressed, but the depth of development is limited.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a basic progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Another point is', 'Furthermore', 'Apart from this'). Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'these things' in the first body paragraph. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the flow between sentences could be improved with a more varied range of linking words to achieve a smoother, more natural progression.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There are several instances of repetition, such as 'recycling', 'reuse', and 'garbage'. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'convenience attitude' and 'inconvenience services'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited to common, everyday terms. To improve, the student should aim to use more precise collocations and a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary to demonstrate greater flexibility and control over the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('the recycling process', 'the environment'), subject-verb agreement issues ('individual in many nations as much they can'), and punctuation errors. While these errors do not impede communication, they are persistent. The student attempts complex sentences, but they often contain minor inaccuracies. Increasing the frequency of error-free sentences and focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with articles and pluralization, would significantly improve the score.
