Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying lack of education and infrastructure as key issues. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of development. Ideas are presented but remain underdeveloped; for instance, the suggestion of 'well fair' (welfare/events) is vague, and the example regarding the Delhi survey lacks sufficient detail to fully support the argument. Because the response fails to meet the length requirement and lacks the necessary depth for a higher band, it is constrained to a lower score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'So that it is convenient'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed. While there is a basic logical structure, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the brevity of the text prevent a higher score. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and does not effectively summarize the main points.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with several spelling errors that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'happning', 'insufficent', 'enviornment', 'curiculam', and 'degrate'. The student uses basic terminology and struggles with collocations, for example, 'wastage rubbish' and 'prople recycle'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or an attempt to use precise vocabulary to convey complex ideas. To improve, the student needs to focus on accurate spelling and expanding their range of topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences often contain grammatical errors, such as 'If society secratory will arrange meeting... this will help'. There are frequent errors in articles, verb tense, and word order, for example, 'people even do not any idea' and 'legislation some laws'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of grammatical errors and the limited range of structures significantly impact the quality of the writing.
