Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this contemporary era in my areas living beings are not trying to recycle their garbage as they can. This essay will articulate reasons behind this trend as well as discuss what we can do to aware the people for this notion in the forthcoming paragraphs.

To commence with the predominant point behind this trend is that modern generation not have enough knowledge about this process. To be more precise, in this day and ages youth is more interested in learning about latest technology features rather the focusing on the environment. Consequently, as they are not aware about this . So, they are not following procedure for recycling the rubbish. For Instance, Survey took place to investigate that how many people have knowledge about this which conclude that 60 percent of livings not known advantages of doing recycling. To cope with this, we can arrange campus which will educate people about merits of recycling. As it will bring awareness in new youth.

Moreover, government is also not serious about this situation. To explain it more, authority have to focus on this as it is very vital topic for whole world. To tackle this, government should enforce strong law to alleviate this problem. This is to say, government can make proper rules for garbage so if any of will not follow that they will get certain about of fine. As a result, by doing this folks will give more attention to this.

In summary, contemporary society has witness lot of waste of things instead of recycling it. I find myself surrounded by above view points in this case.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the claim that youth are only interested in technology is a broad generalization that lacks nuance. The solutions proposed, such as 'arranging campus' (likely meaning workshops or campaigns) and 'enforcing strong law', are relevant but could be expanded with more specific detail or examples to reach a higher band. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of analysis remains at a basic level, which limits the score to a 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In summary'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To explain it more' or 'This is to say'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'if any of will not follow that', which makes the flow of ideas slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is present, but the transition between ideas could be smoother to improve the overall progression of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and non-standard collocations, such as 'living beings' instead of 'people' or 'citizens', and 'aware the people for this notion', which is grammatically incorrect. The student relies on basic vocabulary and struggles with more sophisticated or academic terms. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of flexibility and the presence of errors in word choice prevent the response from reaching a higher band. More precise terminology related to environmental issues would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'modern generation not have enough knowledge', 'in this day and ages', and '60 percent of livings not known'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While the student attempts complex structures, these are often marred by errors in syntax and word order. To improve, the student should focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
