Student answer (Band 6.0)

In numerous country, people failed to recycle as much household waste as they could. There could be a number of reasons behind this kind of activities including careless, lack of awareness, lack of convenient recycling facilities. Well, It is extremely necessary to draw attention in this type of actions. In fact, there are number of actions that authority as well as citizen can take to promote recycling. I would like to discuss this in the following paragraphs.

To begin with, it is our primary responsibility to promote and know about the recycling. Furthermore, government should distribute the different colored of dustbin named organic garbage and inorganic garbage so that people can easily understand both. Additionally, they should take strict actions against the improper drainage of the garbage. Because the waste such as plastic and papers which actually can be recycled should be drained separately. For example, In our society there are two colors of dustbin have distributed including blue and green. Thus we through the green waste in the green color dustbin and the garbage which can be recycled is been through into the blue one.

Moreover, authority should involve the chapters of recycling in the school so that children can understand the importance of garbage recycling. In addition, teachers should explain to them that how the recycling procedure actually helps the earth and environment to keep clean and well-being.

However, these all can not be possible by government actions only, we all should helps them to promote recycling. We all should have knowledge about the global warming and climate disaster so that we can understand the importance of recycling. To illustrate, all family members should keep eyes on garbage distribution. Furthermore, we as a responsible citizen draw attention to respective authority if they failed to collect and recycle the garbage.

To sum up, many people do not recycle garbage but I must advise that it is our primary responsibility to learn and do. We as a human should understand how crucial recycling is.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as lack of awareness and the need for government-led infrastructure like color-coded bins. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the suggestion to 'involve chapters of recycling in school' is a good point, but it lacks specific detail on how this would practically change behavior. The position is clear throughout, but the essay would benefit from more depth in the analysis of why people fail to recycle, moving beyond simple 'carelessness' to address systemic or psychological barriers.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with,' 'Furthermore,' and 'Moreover,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Well, It is extremely necessary...' which is too informal for an IELTS essay. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'these all can not be possible,' where the antecedent is vague. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'numerous country' (should be 'countries'), 'improper drainage of the garbage' (drainage usually refers to liquids), and 'garbage which can be recycled is been through into the blue one' (incorrect verb form and preposition). While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'organic garbage' and 'global warming,' the overall control is inconsistent, and the repetition of basic terms like 'garbage' and 'recycling' limits the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('people failed to recycle'), pluralization ('numerous country'), and verb tense/voice ('is been through'). Punctuation is also problematic, particularly with comma splices and the misuse of capitalization. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors require the reader to exert effort to follow the argument. To improve, the student should focus on basic grammatical accuracy, specifically article usage and verb forms, before attempting more complex structures.
