Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the explanation regarding 'busy schedules' is vague, and the link between 'lack of knowledge' and recycling is not fully explored. While the example of the 'Swachh Bharat' programme is relevant, the explanation of how it specifically addresses the recycling issue is slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and concrete examples that clearly link the cause to the proposed solution, ensuring the argument is fully extended throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In one side', 'Secondly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, some of these are used incorrectly or awkwardly, such as 'In one side' (should be 'On one hand') and 'Thus, therefore' (which is redundant). Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the conclusion where the sentence structure becomes fragmented and difficult to follow. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some basic terms like 'big fines' and 'neat and clean', which are repetitive and simplistic. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'follow the recycle process' (should be 'recycling process') and 'not have a proper information' (should be 'lack proper information'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to environmental issues and sustainability, and focus on using words in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people... not have a proper information'), incorrect article usage ('the recycle process'), and awkward phrasing ('It was also make people aware'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors will be very beneficial.
