Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that the household wastage is not being recycled by human beings as they need to do. I believe that it is happening because people have a lack of awareness about recycling process, and the government can provide the useful lessons to aware people about the benefits of recycling process through school education and news media.
To commence with, one of the main reason is the lack of awareness about recycling rubbish. It has been seen many time that people throw their household and other garbage in the open area, such as fields. Individuals are taught that how to recycle this and keep in the external bins. For example, I developing countries, people are not provided any garbage bins and given lessons that where the garbage can be put. As a result, people throw their wastage where they find empty space because it is so convenient for them. I believe that lack awareness about recycling wastage can contribute to increase the pollution and decline people's quality of life.
Several measures can be taken to address this issue. Firstly, the government should provide informative lessons to bring people to recycling process. Whenever the useful information is given to people in their young age, they catch it very quickly so providing school lessons can be the great way to educate people to recycle wastage rather than throw it away. For Example, in Canada, majority of people are aware through the internet about environmental and health problems if the rubbish is not recycled. They are also given separate bins so that all wastage can be collected from one place.
In conclusion, although the lack of awareness about recycling rubbish can contribute to pollute the environment significantly, the government support and awareness campions can solve this issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the point about lack of awareness is well-supported, the explanation regarding government intervention could be more detailed. For instance, the example of Canada is relevant, but the link between 'internet awareness' and the actual act of recycling could be more explicitly connected to the proposed solution. Overall, the response covers all requirements, but the depth of analysis remains at a general level, which is characteristic of a Band 6.0 performance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'As a result', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'recycling rubbish' and 'recycling process'. Referencing is generally clear, though some transitions between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas. The paragraphing is appropriate and contributes to the overall coherence of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'household wastage', 'environmental problems', and 'awareness campaigns'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there is noticeable repetition of basic terms like 'recycling', 'rubbish', and 'garbage'. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'provide the useful lessons to aware people' (should be 'raise awareness') and 'bring people to recycling process'. These minor inaccuracies do not impede communication, but they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'one of the main reason' (should be 'reasons'), 'I developing countries' (should be 'In'), and 'lack awareness' (should be 'a lack of awareness'). Additionally, there are issues with article usage and verb forms, such as 'they catch it very quickly'. These errors are noticeable but do not significantly impede the reader's understanding. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions and articles.
