Student answer (Band 6.0)
in this modern world, the use of recyclable stuff has increased significantly however they are not getting discarded well as they should be. This issue has become a serious concerned in the present era and handful measures can be taken to solve this issue which are mentioned in upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with reasons, the first and foremost cause is time, there is no doubt that sorting of recycle is time consuming in comparison of just dumping stuff into garbage as people find it easy and time saving because there are different days of garbage and recycling pickup which does not get fits into people's schedule all the time. Another reason is extra charges, for recycling, extra money is being added by many countries for garbage and recycling bills therefore instead of paying extra costs, it is just easy to throw everything into rubbish.
Shifting towards solutions, the major is strict rules and regulation should be implemented on individuals for mixing up garbage and imposing fine for repeating this mistake can stop them doing this. Another Solution is awareness, it seems like people also commit these actions due to lack of knowledge and providing information about correct process of sorting recycle can also be help in long run. awarding people who are doing it all correct can also encourage people to do it right way as people always want to seen and recognized so when people gets recognized for doing this, they can set an example and motivate others to do so.
To conclude, after pondering a great deal of thoughts, I have come to the conclusion that although mixing all rubbish seems an easy process, but it can have long term affects on environment and society. It is high time to bring measures into practice before its too late.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for low recycling rates and potential solutions. The ideas are relevant, such as the time-consuming nature of sorting and the financial disincentives. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the suggestion of 'awarding people' is a good idea but lacks specific detail on how this would be implemented. The position is clear throughout, and the essay maintains a consistent focus on the topic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on your points with more concrete examples or deeper analysis of the consequences of the current situation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for reasons and solutions, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Another reason', and 'Shifting towards solutions'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Shifting towards solutions, the major is strict rules'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the use of 'they' in the first sentence, which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety and natural flow of linking words would enhance the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic terms like 'stuff', 'things', and 'good/bad' structures. There are also some collocation errors, such as 'sorting of recycle' (should be 'recycling') and 'does not get fits into' (should be 'does not fit into'). While the meaning is clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is a lack of sophisticated or topic-specific terminology that would demonstrate a higher level of lexical control. Focusing on more precise nouns and academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow, such as 'serious concerned' (should be 'concern'), 'the major is strict rules' (should be 'the major solution is'), and 'can also be help' (should be 'can also be helpful'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with run-on sentences and comma splices. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
