Student answer (Band 6.0)
In various diffrent developed and under-developed countries people do not bother much to recycle their trash as much as they can. which can damage the environment by bringing air, water and soil polution, and ruin the environment in the long run. In this essay we will see the resonable causes relating to this and its possible solutions as well.
In my openion, recycling is not much promoted in many countries simply becuse people have not been taught about the harmful effects it can bring to environment and in our society over the course of time. However, sometimes people can get lazy even after having the full sense about the mannice it can bring to the society. Moreover, sometimes goverment does not take proper measures to make sure trash is being disposed properly and dump it in the water bodies, which can ruin the water bodies and i think is the main factor which affects terrebly in the long term to any country.
We can improve this by taking some resonable precautions like hosting public awareness programmes in schools, universities, work places, and hospitals etc. government can take a strict action againt people who voilate the rules by placing high ticket charges/fines to general public on voilation of rules, which can create seriousness in all age groups. Government and also place certain cash prices for trash collection which can encourage people to collect trash and dispose it correctly in their leasure time. Teachers should teach and encourage children from a very young age how to dispose waste in correct manner and the serious causes and benifits of its negligience.
In conclsion, I would say that trash disposal is a serious matter and all age groups should actively take precautions and take part to keep their surroundings tidy which in turn will keep any country cleaner altogether.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring the reasons why people do not recycle as much as they could and suggesting measures to change this behavior. The student presents a clear position and supports ideas with relevant points, such as a lack of public awareness, educational gaps, and the role of government enforcement through fines and incentives. However, the development of some ideas tends to be slightly superficial, and the reasoning would benefit from more specific examples or deeper elaboration. For instance, the mention of governments dumping waste into water bodies is a slightly disjointed idea within the context of household recycling habits. Overall, the task is adequately addressed, placing the response solidly in the band 6 territory.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is divided into four logical paragraphs representing an introduction, two body paragraphs covering causes and solutions respectively, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'However', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader through the text. However, there are some mechanical transitions and referencing issues, such as starting the first body paragraph directly without a strong introductory clause for the arguments, and the fragment sentence at the beginning ('which can damage the environment...'). Paragraphing is sufficient and appropriate, giving the essay a coherent overall arrangement that meets the criteria for a band 6.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic arguments regarding environmental issues and recycling. There are several spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'diffrent', 'resonable', 'openion', 'becuse', 'mannice', 'goverment', 'terrebly', 'againt', 'voilate', 'leasure', and 'conclsion'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items like 'disposed properly' and 'public awareness programmes', but the density of spelling errors and occasional imprecise word choices restrict the lexical score. While communication is not severely impeded, the recurring orthographic errors pull the score down to a band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting relative clauses and conditional structures. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are punctuation and sentence boundary issues, notably a sentence fragment at the very beginning ('which can damage the environment...'). Other minor errors appear, such as subject-verb agreement issues like 'government and also place certain cash prices'. Despite these inaccuracies, the complex structures attempted do not completely obscure the meaning, and many simple sentences remain correct. This profile corresponds well to a band 6.
