Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying why people do not recycle as much as they could (such as a lack of government-provided bins and public awareness) and suggesting solutions (organising awareness camps and distributing bins, referencing examples like Canada). However, the ideas are presented in a somewhat generalised and repetitive manner. The development of points lacks depth in places, such as the brief mention of India or western countries, which keeps the response within the Band 6 descriptor range. The writer establishes a clear stance throughout the essay, fulfilling all basic task requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, maintaining an overall coherent structure. However, paragraphing is disrupted by extremely long, run-on sentences that link independent clauses with commas rather than full stops, as seen in sentences like 'in some nation governance don't provide the bins in the society, people are keep putting...'. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'on the one hand', 'on the other hand', and 'To conclude', but they are often mechanically applied or poorly punctuated. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which impacts the overall flow and progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, touching on relevant topics like 'rubbish recycling', 'wet garbage', and 'governance'. However, there are frequent word-choice and spelling errors, such as 'releated' instead of related, 'governance' instead of government, 'rubish' instead of rubbish, and 'residients' instead of residents. The writer attempts less common vocabulary, but these inaccuracies and non-standard collocations lead to occasional strain for the reader, aligning closely with the Band 5 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The text demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but it is heavily affected by major punctuation and grammatical errors. The most notable issue is the frequent use of comma splices, resulting in very long, run-on sentences that lack proper clause separation. There are also frequent errors in verb tenses, article usage, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'majority of the individual also don't know' and 'due to which they are don't care'. These errors occasionally impede communication and reduce the readability of the response.
