Student answer (Band 5.0)

It's is extremely crusial for the wellbeing of the country to recycle the waste materail. Every individual have different perspective about it to recycle it or not, however it should be done more than it usually does. Unfortunately recycling the waste products is less as they could be done.

On the other hand, in the country where there is alot of material which usually waste but the individuals is not recycling. It is unpleasent for the atmosphere. If the waste material is not utilising in a good way but around the corners of the street it is unpleasent for all the society or country. For example, plastic bottles can be use in numerous ways instead of wasting them in garbage we can recycle them. It facilitates in economy of the country.

On the other hand, many humans avoid recycling and mind with their own business which is not good. These kind of people also exist. They waste the material futhermore they never try to develop something good for it. I believe it should be changed, it is a responsibility of every individual not only government should be responsible for it but every human should take part in this to develop a better future. Government can apply rules, by punishing them with paying taxes or fines so that every human avoid the things which banned or fined.

In conclusion, I believe it is paramount for pleasent atmosphere to recycling the product and create a better developing country. This well lead to the better developing country which build a thought provoking initiative to overcome the pollution as well as rubbish.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing reasons why people do not recycle as much as they could, such as a lack of personal responsibility and awareness, and suggesting solutions like government rules, fines, and taxation. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive, especially regarding the consequences of uncollected rubbish and the general notion of personal responsibility. The position is stated, but the support lacks depth and specific real-world examples beyond a brief mention of plastic bottles. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing it firmly at a Band 5.0 level based on the descriptors for limited and under-developed ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organization with attempts at paragraphing and basic transitional markers such as 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of 'On the other hand' is inappropriate for introducing a new supporting point rather than a contrasting idea. The progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions, repetitive sentence structures, and unclear referencing, such as 'these kind of people' and 'develop something good for it'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is faulty and mechanical, leading to disjointed reading. This aligns well with the Band 5 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses a limited vocabulary range with noticeable errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples include spelling errors such as 'crusial' instead of crucial, 'materail' instead of material, 'alot' instead of a lot, 'unpleasent' instead of unpleasant, 'futhermore' instead of furthermore, and 'pleasent' instead of pleasant. There are also unnatural collocations, such as 'mind with their own business' and 'waste the material futhermore they never try to develop something good for it'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic topic of recycling and waste, the frequency of errors restricts the score to a Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The text contains a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent subject-verb agreement errors, such as 'Every individual have different perspective', 'the individuals is not recycling', and 'this well lead to the better developing country'. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also weak, leading to run-on structures like 'If the waste material is not utilising in a good way but around the corners of the street it is unpleasent for all the society or country.' Errors are frequent and often cause strain for the reader, which is characteristic of a Band 4.5 to 5.0 performance.
