Student answer (Band 5.0)

In numerous countries, individuals do not recycle thier waste from daily usages up to the limit they can .There can be different reasons for which pupils do not like to recycle it .In my opinion, this can be changed by taking necessary actions .

The main cause of less cycling for rubbish can be the busy schedule .Nowadays, everyone is busy in making money .People hardly have extra time to do these kind of activities regularly.Instead everyone prefers to buy new stuff rather than making older stuff reusable as it takes a lot of time and energy .

Another leading factor is advancement in technology. In today’s era everything is possible just because of technology .For instance, bigger machines and more practical work ,improved quality is only possible to get with machinw

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The student has addressed the prompt by identifying reasons why people do not recycle, such as a busy schedule, and mentioning technological advancements. However, the response is incomplete and severely under-length, containing only 132 words against the 250-word minimum. Furthermore, the second reason regarding technology trails off abruptly with incomplete thoughts ("machinw"), and the second part of the prompt regarding what can be done is not meaningfully addressed beyond a brief introductory statement ("this can be changed by taking necessary actions"). Due to the lack of adequate task completion, development, and failure to meet the minimum word count requirement, this performance aligns with Band 4.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The writing is divided into short paragraphs, attempting to structure the introduction and body points. However, the logical progression is weak due to the fragmentary nature of the response. Cohesive devices are minimal and basic. For instance, phrases like "The main cause..." and "Another leading factor..." show an attempt to sequence ideas, but referencing is occasionally loose and the abrupt termination of the text disrupts overall cohesion. Paragraphing is initiated but insufficiently developed. Overall, the organizational flaws and lack of completed ideas place this text at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with terms like "rubbish", "waste", "money", and "technology". There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as "thier" instead of "their", "pupils" used incorrectly to refer to adults or the general public, and a typo at the end with "machinw". The range of vocabulary is limited and minimally adequate for conveying very basic thoughts, though these errors and the lack of precise lexical items restrict the score. This demonstrates Band 5.0 lexical control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple sentences and some basic complex forms, but control is inconsistent. There are several grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including spacing errors before punctuation marks (e.g., "can ."). Errors such as "do these kind of activities" (lack of agreement) and the incomplete final sentence ("improved quality is only possible to get with machinw") impede clarity and reduce accuracy. Frequent structural faults limit the response to a Band 5.0.
