Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people choose not recycle their garbage due to various reasons like not being aware about the recycling process, being lazy to bifercate the plastics and other waste, don't have proper mediums to dispose of and many more. From my perspective, it seems that most countries do have proper recycling system for the people to recycle their plastic waste whereas some of the countires are not having it or they are still in the middle of the development of the recycling system. I strongly believe, it is beneficial for the environment and people, to recycle their waste.
Firstly, by recycling the plastic waste as much as possible helps the ecological system to function more efficiently. For an instance, if people recycle's the waste and turns that litter into small pallets used for BBQ's in place of charcoal, helps the environment which results into less deforestation.
Secondly, most of the countries has plastic return areas where people could turn in their plastic bottles, cups and similar items in exchange they get certain amount of money back. This kind of programs encourages people to gather their certain type of waste rather than disposing in the dumpsters and creating more work for the cleaners to differentiate the garbage into the dumping grounds. Also, people would be able to take initiatives dueto programs like this and will stop being lazy to not seperate their waste.
Furthermore, Governments should also launch different kinds of recycle programs in which people takes part and help the society to understand the importance of the whole recycling process. In schools, teachers and professors could also teach the students about waste management and reusing and recycling the waste whenever possible. This way the future generation is also being aware about the whole process and can help the society whenever and wherever possible.
In conclusion, I think people should recycle their waste as much as possible as it benefacts the earth's ecological system, helps the human society in different ways and teaches the future generation to continue the process.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, exploring the reasons why people do not recycle as much as they could, such as lack of awareness, laziness, and inadequate infrastructure, while also suggesting solutions like government programs and school education. However, some ideas lack deep extension or contain minor over-generalisations. For example, the claim that people are too lazy to separate waste is mentioned, but the argument could be further developed with more specific examples. Overall, the position is clear throughout, and the main tenets of the task are adequately covered, aligning well with the Band 6.5 or Band 7 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay displays a clear overall arrangement with an introduction, well-defined body paragraphs using sequence markers such as 'Firstly' and 'Secondly', and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently and appropriately. However, cohesion is sometimes slightly mechanical or faulty, as seen in phrases like 'For an instance, if people recycle's the waste', where grammatical errors disrupt smooth flow. Referencing can occasionally be unclear, such as pronoun use in 'This way the future generation is also being aware'. Nonetheless, logical organization and progression are generally maintained throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'ecological system', 'deforestation', and 'waste management'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including 'bifercate' instead of 'bifurcate', 'pallets' instead of 'pellets', and 'benefacts' instead of 'benefits'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they highlight an inconsistent control of less common lexical items, placing the response firmly in the Band 6 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures (e.g., 'if people recycle... helps the environment'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('most of the countries has') and incorrect verb forms ('people recycle's the waste'). Punctuation is also occasionally problematic, with missing commas in introductory clauses. While communication is rarely impeded, the density of grammatical errors prevents the response from achieving a higher score.
