Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this modern society, the household waste has becoming a serious concern to the ecosystem. In many nations, a lot of people does not pay attention to recyle their rubbish as much as they can. The main reasons behind this trend is that the hectic life of individuals and a poor waste management system. This eassy will discuss some fruitful measures to cop with this problem.
To begin with, to find the recyclable material, it takes a considerable amount of time to distrubute everything according to the material types such as liquid, paper, and plastic. As a result, people avoid to spend extra time to take mantatory steps and mix everthing without a sequence. Moreover, some locations do not have a proper waste collection day or time. For instance, every street or block in a city needs a particular day to collect the rubbish which can help the people to follow a timetable for their waste, without this, they may skip the recycling process.
Nevertheless, this issue can be resolved with the help of governments and individulas effords. Firstly, the government should spend a significant amount to upgrade the infrastructure of waste management facilities, along with that, they should distribute a proper timetable to every location of the city. Due to this, people can feel more aware and punctual about the services. Furthermore, another way to attract people for recycling is that the government should give a certain amount of money for the recyclable materials. For example, the Japan government introduced the vending machines to collect the plastic bottles for recycling. Eventually, this technique helped them to attract more people to recycle their rubbish.
In conclusion, a poor waste management technique and a hectic life of people are the major reasons behind this trend. However, a well-developed system and money as a reward can be helpful to attract more people for recycling.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by identifying why people do not recycle enough (hectic lifestyles and poor waste management systems) and offering solutions (better infrastructure, timetables, and rewards such as vending machines). The position is clear throughout, and ideas are extended and supported with relevant examples, such as the Japanese vending machine model. Although some points could be elaborated further, the overall development satisfies the requirements for a Band 6.5 or 7.0 response. The writer successfully covers the prompt and maintains relevance from the introduction through to the conclusion, ensuring all components of the dual-question prompt are adequately handled.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate reasons and solutions. However, there are some minor cohesive faults, such as the abrupt transition in the first paragraph ('This eassy will discuss...') and slightly mechanical links ('To begin with', 'Nevertheless'). Referencing is generally clear, but occasional minor awkwardness in transitional phrasing places this firmly in the Band 6.0 to 6.5 range. Overall, the ideas are organised logically and guide the reader smoothly through the writer's arguments.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'ecosystem', 'recyclable material', 'infrastructure', and 'timetable'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'eassy' instead of essay, 'recyle' instead of recycle, 'distrubute' instead of distribute, and 'individulas effords' instead of individual efforts. Despite these inaccuracies, communication is never impeded. The lexical range is sufficient for some flexibility, but the frequency of spelling slips prevents the score from reaching a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at relative clauses ('rubbish which can help the people') and conditional or modal structures ('government should spend'). However, there are several grammatical and agreement errors throughout the text, including 'household waste has becoming' (tense error), 'a lot of people does not pay attention' (subject-verb agreement), 'people avoid to spend' (incorrect infinitive pattern), and 'the Japan government' (article/noun form). These errors occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band, though they rarely impede overall communication of the core ideas.
