To begin with, The most significant factor is that the technology has been evolving day by day. Due to that reason, they do not recycle it compare than before. Hence, the government would have to face issues with recycling the waste materials in the future. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding the reasons for low recycling rates and solutions to change this trend. However, the development of ideas is heavily hindered by logical flaws and lack of clarity. For instance, the claim that advanced technology is the primary reason people do not recycle, and that people are dependent on 'robotic machines into their home' where waste is discarded directly into the machine, is unconvincing and underdeveloped. Furthermore, the Canadian government example lacks factual grounding and relevance. While a position is presented, the arguments are weak and border on tangential, leading to a band score of 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which provides a basic overall structure. However, logical progression is frequently disrupted by confusing statements and awkward transitions, such as 'which are discussing it in the upcoming paragraphs'. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or mechanical, such as 'Due to that reason' and 'Therefore, most of the waste material is discarded in to the machine.' Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak due to disjointed sentences and unclear referencing pronouns like 'they'. This places the response firmly in the band 5 category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively limited and repetitive, with several awkward word choices and collocation errors. Examples include 'in myriad of countries', 'compare than before', 'highly dependable on', and 'break the protocol'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'mitigate', 'municipality', and 'authorities', inaccuracies in usage and spelling persist throughout the text, occasionally causing difficulty for the reader. The lexical range is minimally adequate for the task, matching the band 5 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex forms contain significant errors. Examples of grammatical inaccuracies include 'people have not been recycling... which are discussing it', 'the technology has been evolving', 'the authorities has to implement' (subject-verb agreement error), 'if anyone break the protocol' (conditional tense error), and 'instead of highly reliable on' (incorrect word form). These frequent errors in grammar and punctuation cause noticeable strain and difficulty for the reader, which aligns with a band 5.
