Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both why people do not recycle enough and offering solutions, which places it securely at this level. You have presented relevant ideas, such as the lack of education and the need for better government infrastructure, and provided examples like using paper bags and rechargeable batteries. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack full explanation. For instance, the discussion on educational institutes introducing topics in the curriculum is introduced abruptly without fully exploring how this would practically alter public habits. To move closer to higher bands, ensure every main point is thoroughly extended with specific explanations or broader consequences rather than brief assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
Your essay demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is utilised to separate distinct ideas, such as educational solutions versus infrastructural and individual actions. However, progression is sometimes hindered by mechanical or faulty cohesive devices, and referencing is not always completely clear. For example, transitional markers like 'On the first hand' are non-standard, and referencing pronouns occasionally creates ambiguity regarding what specific nouns refer to. To achieve a stronger flow, you should work on using a wider range of natural cohesive ties and ensuring that each paragraph transitions smoothly into the next without abrupt shifts in focus.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and topical terminology such as 'infrastructure', 'recyclable stuff', and 'long term impact'. Communication is generally clear, but there are noticeable spelling errors ('diificult', 'sigle', 'polythin', 'shooping', 'involve') and instances of awkward word choice or word formation, such as 'most raising concern' and 'non-recycle products'. These lexical inaccuracies do not seriously impede understanding, but they prevent the score from rising further. To improve, pay closer attention to word forms, parts of speech, and correct spelling of common vocabulary related to the environment and daily shopping habits.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your writing displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to construct varied sentences. You have included complex structures such as conditional and relative clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly regarding article usage, singular and plural agreement, and verb forms (e.g., 'people with the lack of knowledge', 'how nature gets destroy', 'every individuals should also get involve', 'the goes into watch'). These errors persist throughout the text and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. To progress, focus on strengthening your control over basic grammatical agreements, prepositions within structures, and ensuring your complex sentence attempts remain error-free.
