Student answer (Band 5.5)

It has been seen that the people in many countries, do not recycle the rubbish as per their capacity. This essay will highlight the basic reasons behind this and the ways to change this.

It has bee seen that in most of the countries, the indivisuals do not care to recycle their rubbish. I think the main reasons are illitracy and at some extent, the lack of legal laws about this. Most of the times the people ignore the importantance of recycling the things. They don't know how they can reuse many of the items from their daily routine, which they are wasting in ignorance. For example, it is comman in many societies that they don't keep the parper and cupboards separate from other waste because they don't know that it can be recycled easily and can be reused in various other places. Similarly the study shows that a huge amount of paper and cupboard are thrown in rubbish and are not collected properly to recycle.

To control this habbit we need to educate the people and show the importance of such reusable materials. This should be started from the schools. The primary and secandary schools should have periodic awareness sessions to show the importance of recycling the rubbish. The studens should be given multiple exercises to explore various techniques to recycle different materials. Similarly the government and NGOs should arrange workshops to tell the importance of recycling and educate the people how they can recucle maximum of their rubbish.

In conclusion, the rubbish is not recycled properly in many countries, only beuase of ignorance and lack of proper administrative rule. This can be easily improved by educating the people and enforcing proper legal laws by the governments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify limited awareness and weak legal enforcement as reasons, then propose education through schools, government and NGO workshops, and stronger rules. These ideas are relevant and your position remains clear. The examples about separating paper and cardboard and teaching students recycling techniques help make the response concrete. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for instance, you mention that people “do not care” and that laws are lacking, but could clarify how these factors lead to low recycling or give a specific example of an effective policy. The discussion of solutions is somewhat more developed than the explanation of causes, so extending the causes and linking each solution directly to them would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. This makes the main progression easy to follow, and signposts such as “For example,” “Similarly,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Similarly,” and the opening phrase “It has been seen” is repeated in the next paragraph without adding a clear transition. A few references are also imprecise, such as “this habit,” which could refer to recycling or failing to recycle. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make links between cause and solution explicit to improve cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “recycle,” “awareness sessions,” “reusable materials,” and “administrative rule.” The meaning is generally understandable, but the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “illiteracy” is not quite the same as a lack of awareness about recycling, and “legal laws” is redundant. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “indivisuals,” “importantance,” “comman,” and “recucle,” which reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for more precise topic language and check spelling carefully; alternatives such as “limited public awareness,” “legislation,” and “recycling facilities” would help express ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including relative clauses such as “items from their daily routine, which they are wasting” and a purpose clause in “to show the importance of recycling.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “the people in many countries, do not recycle” has an unnecessary comma, while “a huge amount of paper and cupboard are thrown” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an unclear singular/plural construction. The sentence beginning “This can be easily improved” also has an unclear reference. Work on agreement, articles, punctuation, and sentence boundaries, and proofread each sentence to ensure its subject and reference are clear.
