Student answer (Band 5.0)
One of the most pressing issue facing society today in worldwide is disposing and recycling the wastage. Pe ople are not sure how much rubbish they can recycle to protect the environment and what kind of measures they can take to control the damage. I would going to present relevant ideas that can be used to solve this problem in body paragraphs with examples.
One significant factor contributing to this issue is lack of organization and management done by the public authorities. Plastic waste is the biggest concern that every country face, however no one is taking proper measures to deal with this problem. Tone of tiny pieces of plastic waste lingering around our surroundings such as rives, lakes, fertile soil, and ocean. Recycling is the only way to save environment yet government bodies not taking it seriously. For example, in India, Recycling is major concern faced by the society that lead to unhygienic and health problems. Government is too focused on corrupting the public that they are not solving the issues.
On the other hand, countries like Canada, America, Australia takes measures to solve this problem. They have garbage collection services so that no one can liter around, every place have dustbins and people throw the waste inside them. Moreover they have proper recycling facilities from plastic waste to glass waste, also everyone new to separate the waste before the pickup services come to collect it. Government authorities have strict rules, if someone do not separate the plastic, organic, recycle and glass then person will get charged with huge fine.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify a relevant cause—weak public-authority organisation—and offer possible measures such as collection services, recycling facilities, waste separation and fines. These examples show an attempt to address both questions. However, the response only partially fulfils the task: it does not clearly explain why individuals fail to recycle, and the proposed solutions are mostly described as practices in other countries rather than developed recommendations. The final paragraph begins, “In my opinion, recycling waste is the” and then stops, so there is no completed conclusion or clear overall position. Develop the reasons and explain how specific measures could change people’s behaviour, then finish with a complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has separate paragraphs and uses basic signposting such as “One significant factor” and “On the other hand,” which helps readers recognise a shift in focus. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow: the second body paragraph describes countries with stronger recycling systems, but does not clearly connect those examples to a proposed solution. Some links are also unclear, and the unfinished final paragraph leaves the response without a proper ending. Within paragraphs, ideas sometimes run together, particularly in the discussion of collection services, bins and fines. Organise the response around the two task questions, use each paragraph to develop one main point, and make the relationship between examples and recommendations explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “plastic waste,” “recycling facilities,” “garbage collection services” and “strict rules,” so the subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to understand. Examples include “disposing and recycling the wastage,” “Tone of tiny pieces,” and “corrupting the public”; the last phrase does not clearly express the intended criticism of government priorities. There are also spelling errors such as “rives” and “liter.” Aim for precise, natural expressions and check spelling. Reusing accurate terms such as “waste,” “recycling” and “separate” is more effective than attempting an unsuitable phrase.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “however” and a conditional sentence about fines. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “One of the most pressing issue” has a singular-plural mismatch, while “I would going to present” uses an incorrect verb form. Agreement and sentence construction are also problematic in “every place have dustbins” and “if someone do not separate.” The final sentence fragment, “In my opinion, recycling waste is the,” is incomplete. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms and complete sentence structure, especially when joining clauses.
