Student answer (Band 5.5)
yes ! it is true that in many countries like Pakistan ,people usually do not recycle the rubbish as much as they can because of laziness. They just do things in a way to save their time but they donot have the knowledge of the outcomes fom their act. This is a very immature thing to do as a citizen of a country. One must care for the others in a society. It is the responsibilty of everyone living in any place to dicard the leftovers in a proper way. Government shoild provide the seperate bins for seperate garbage lke a yellow bin for plastics ,black for kitchen wastes and etc. This will also help people to discard in an easy way. Also every rubbish in seperate bins will also be recyled properly. And when this type of discard is taken into practice ,it will cause no harm as well, because when everything is put in one bin ,that usually incluedes plastics , pices of broken glass bottles ,and sharpes this usually harms the workers that empties the dustbins, which is a major reason for the increasing rate of infections and fatal diseases. And when this problem is seen on a large scale , it is affecting the population , emplyoments rate and inflation greatly. So as a conclusion,to avoid all the bad consequences , government and also the local communty must become responsible and mature enough to understand all this and their their steps towards improvement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify laziness and lack of knowledge as reasons for low recycling, and suggest that the government provide separate bins. The explanation that mixed rubbish can expose waste workers to broken glass and sharp objects is a relevant example that supports your proposal. However, the causes are only briefly explained, and the effects on “population, employments rate and inflation” are asserted without showing how they are connected to recycling. The response also falls 13 words short of the required minimum, so there is limited space to develop your ideas. To strengthen the response, explain each cause more fully and add a specific measure, such as public education or collection services, with a clear explanation of how it would change behaviour.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable overall direction: it moves from reasons for not recycling to separate bins as a solution, then to the risks of mixed waste and a concluding call for responsibility. However, it is presented as one long paragraph, so the stages of the argument are not clearly separated. Several links are repetitive or mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “And when” and “Also.” The relationship between the point about worker injuries and the claims about employment and inflation is also unclear. Use separate paragraphs for causes, solutions and the conclusion, and connect each idea with precise transitions and clear references. This would make the progression easier to follow and reduce the sense of ideas being added one after another.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycle,” “separate bins,” “plastics,” and “infections and fatal diseases,” which helps communicate the main points. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “discard the leftovers,” “this type of discard,” and “the increasing rate of infections.” Spelling errors—including “responsibilty,” “recylced,” and “communtiy”—also make the writing less clear and polished. Aim for more precise environmental vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, describe “sorting household waste” and “reducing contamination,” rather than repeatedly referring to discarding rubbish.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because of laziness” and a longer explanation of how mixed rubbish can harm workers. However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “the workers that empties” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “Government shoild provide” lacks an article and contains an incorrect verb form. The long sentence beginning “And when this problem is seen on a large scale” also joins several claims without clear grammatical structure. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related ideas using accurate clauses and punctuation.
