Student answer (Band 6.0)
Recycling is one of the most effective way to protect the environment and reduce the amount of waste produced by human activities. However, in many nations, people do not recyle their rebbish as mush as they could. This essay is an attempt to analyze the reasons behind this issue and also suggest some possible solutions to tackle this issue.
To commence with, it is easy to understand why multitudes do not like recyle as much as they could. Firstly, many individuals are not aware the harmful effect of waste on the sorrounding or environment. They may not realize that plastic pollution and excessive landfill waste can damage eosystem and contribute to environmental problems. Secondly, in some areas recyling bins are not available and people have to travel long distances to dispose of recylable things and which is costly for some people. Thirdly, some peole consider sperearting rubbish time consuming and prefer to throw everything in single bin. As a result, recylable materials are often ended up in landfills.
Moreover, several things can be done for tackling this issue. The first and formost is that Government can organise awareness campaigns through schools, television, social media platform to educate the people regarding the impostance of recyling. Despite of it, local authorities can also arrange awareness programs and provide seperate recyling bins in residential area. In addition to this, small finacial incentives such as discounts or rewards for recyling, can be introduced for motivating the people. Last but not least, Governmnet should make strict rules and regulations and also fine for those people who repeatedly ignoring recyling regulations.
In the final analysis, lack of awareness and inadequate recyling facilties are main reaons why people fail to recyle the material. Through the campaigns, proper facility we can make waste management habits in the individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the prompt and maintain a clear focus on why recycling is limited and how it could be improved. The reasons—low awareness, a lack of nearby bins, and the time involved in sorting—are relevant, while your proposed campaigns, facilities, incentives, and penalties give the response a useful range of solutions. This meets the task well, and the explanation of how limited access leads to waste going to landfill is a relevant link. However, some points are listed rather than fully developed: for example, you could explain how incentives would change behaviour or give a specific example of an effective campaign. The conclusion summarises the main causes but could also restate the key solutions more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. The sequence within each main paragraph is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “In addition to this” help readers identify the stages of your argument. This is a strong organisational foundation. At times, however, the linking language feels formulaic, particularly the repeated sequencing phrases and “Last but not least.” Some connections between ideas could be made more naturally, and the conclusion’s final sentence does not clearly connect the proposed actions to the intended result. Use fewer stock transitions and make the relationship between each cause, solution, and outcome explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “plastic pollution,” “landfill waste,” “environmental problems,” “awareness campaigns,” and “financial incentives,” so the reader can understand the subject and your main points. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “inadequate recycling facilities.” However, spelling errors are noticeable throughout, including “recyle,” “rebbish,” “sorrounding,” and “facilties,” and some word combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “make waste management habits” and “recycling regulations” in the context of fining people who ignore them. These issues limit precision and can distract the reader. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, rather than relying on formal-sounding expressions that do not fit naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “why,” “that,” and “who,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. Some sentence patterns are handled effectively, such as the explanation that people may not realise plastic pollution can damage ecosystems. However, there are recurring errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “one of the most effective way” needs a plural noun, and “people are not aware the harmful effect” is missing a grammatical link and has an unclear singular/plural form. The phrase “materials are often ended up” also uses an incorrect verb construction, while “people who repeatedly ignoring” lacks a finite verb. Review these patterns and proofread each sentence for a complete verb structure and accurate agreement.
