Student answer (Band 5.5)

Recycle your garbage is best way for sustainability of environment. Though many contries have strict laws in this matter but some people always find a way to not recycle their garbage as much as they should do. This is mainly because of lack of awareness. People find it not realible to recycle often. There are number of steps that can be taken by government to prevent this from happening.

First of all, government can launch a numerous programs in order to increase an awareness between public. This can be done simply by making a recycle goods committee in which a volunteers are hired who go door to door and teach people how to recycle our goods properly and make make people understand the value of doing recycle. Also, they can tell them the impact of not recycling on our earth. For instance, schools can organise a learning session in which students can learn to recycle at very young age that helps to build a strong foundation for future.

Secondly, new and more strict laws should be introduced to public so that more and more people will driven towards making environment beautiful. government can also increase the penalty on a person who do not recycle his/ her garbage. For example, if any person denies to not recycle its recyclable, a garbage picker should have every right to not pick up his garbage. This results in maintaining garbage correctly and create a huge impression to do the recycle garbage.

In conclusion, following laws and creating awareness between public can make a huge difference that a government of any country should make in betterment of our environment. This is not only helps to keep surrounding tidy but also make everyone healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify limited awareness as a reason for low recycling and suggest public education and stricter penalties as responses. The examples of volunteers visiting homes and schools teaching children make the proposals relevant. However, the explanation of why people fail to recycle is much less developed than the solutions; the claim that people find recycling “not realible” is unclear and is not supported with a reason or example. Some proposed measures also need fuller explanation, such as how refusing to collect a household’s rubbish would encourage recycling in practice. Develop the causes as fully as the solutions and explain how each measure would change behaviour.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two solution-focused body paragraphs, and a conclusion. “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the sequence easy to follow, and the examples generally sit alongside the relevant proposals. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, the body paragraphs focus almost entirely on solutions, leaving the cause mentioned in the introduction without a developed paragraph. Some links are also mechanical, and references such as “This results” do not clearly identify which measure is being discussed. Give causes and solutions distinct, balanced development, and use more precise links between claims and examples.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “strict laws,” “penalty,” “recyclable,” and “awareness,” so the main ideas can be understood. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make the writing less natural. Examples include “realible” for “reliable,” “a numerous programs,” “making a recycle goods committee,” and “do the recycle garbage.” Some phrases, such as “making environment beautiful,” are also imprecise for this topic. Build a more accurate set of recycling-related expressions and check word forms and common combinations. For instance, use “raise public awareness,” “recycling scheme,” and “recyclable waste” rather than translating phrases word for word.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a concession in “Though many contries have strict laws …” and a conditional example beginning “if any person…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “a volunteers are hired” has an article and agreement problem, while “This is not only helps” combines incompatible verb forms. In “a person who do not recycle,” the verb does not agree with its subject. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them; also check subject–verb agreement and article use when proofreading.
