Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, the increasing number of organizations who considering about the environment and they come along with numerous appeals and protecting campaigns. However, some individuals do not pay effort to take the action, obviously, not recycling their garbage. This essay will discuss this social problem and provide some solutions to make changes.
First of all, some individuals still think that recycling is unnecessary because they believe their single action may not cause serious consequence. For instance, people throw plastic bottles into general bins instead of recycling them. As a result, this action generate the burden for recycling as those trash must be sort one more time. Secondly, recycling is inconvenient for some people because it depends on the recycling facilities of residential areas. For example, in some areas of Vietnam, it seems difficult for people to find separate bins. Therefore, those individuals may choose the easiest option and put all rubbish in the same bin.
To address this problem, the large organization such as governments or schools should take the responsibility for raising public awareness. They can organize campaigns to teach people how to recycle paper, plastic, and metal. As a result, people may become more aware of the import of recycling and develop better habits. Another effective solution is for local authorities to provide more separate bins in residential areas and public places. This would make it easier to sort their rubbish instead of putting everything in a bin. Consequently, more waste could be recycled and it help reduce environmental damage.
In conclusion, the reason why people do not try seriously recycling their trash are mainly cause by a lack of awareness and limited recycling facilities. To solve this problem, there are some considerable solutions like organizing teaching campaigns by governments or schools and offering more separate bins in areas. Those solutions may raise awareness and encourage more people to recycle

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the question: you explain low awareness of individual impact and the inconvenience of limited facilities, then suggest awareness campaigns and more separate bins. The examples, including plastic bottles going into general waste and the situation in some areas of Vietnam, make the causes and solutions relevant. Your position is clear, and the conclusion restates the main points. Some ideas, however, are more fully explained than others. The claim that mixed rubbish creates extra sorting work is mentioned but not developed, while the proposed campaigns are not illustrated with a specific example of how they would change behaviour. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each cause and show more directly how each solution addresses it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “To address this problem” help readers follow the argument, and the examples generally appear beside the points they support. This gives the essay a coherent progression. Some linking is mechanical, however, and repeated transitions such as “As a result,” “Therefore,” and “Consequently” make connections feel formulaic. In places, references are also unclear, as in “This action generate the burden,” where the relationship between the action and the extra sorting is not expressed smoothly. Use a wider range of natural links and make each cause-and-effect connection explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic vocabulary to discuss recycling, including “recycling facilities,” “public awareness,” “separate bins,” and “environmental damage.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and you attempt some more formal expressions, such as “address this problem.” However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, and word-form errors limit precision: “pay effort,” “protecting campaigns,” “the import of recycling,” and “considerable solutions” are not natural in these contexts. “Garbage,” “rubbish,” and “trash” are all understandable, but varying them does not always add precision. Build a more reliable set of collocations for this topic and check whether each noun, verb, and adjective fits its context; this would make your meaning clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because,” a conditional idea (“if people…”), and result clauses introduced by “As a result.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction reduce accuracy. For example, “organizations who considering” lacks a correctly formed verb, “this action generate” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “those trash must be sort” has an incorrect passive form. The conclusion also contains a faulty structure in “the reason … are mainly cause by.” Practise checking the main verb in each clause, especially agreement and passive constructions, and revise sentences that combine several ideas so their grammatical relationships are clear.
