Student answer (Band 5.0)

A lot of countries does not practise environment sustainability as serious threat by not recycling the rubbish as much as it is required to be done. According to me it is very unethical practise to not recycle objects and it should be at utmost prior importance as this will reflect the country's ecomonic capacity in coming years. While, people represents the nation it should be people's duty to make difference. By means of this essay I will ellaborate in detail how.

First and foremost is the revenue generated and profit earned by recycling the material and pollution controlled with minimizing it. When different categories of rubbish like glass, plastic and metal is seggregated and recycled it can create a lot of different useful product. Like the saying goes "one man's trash is another man's treasure" sometimes the rubbish itself works as raw material for some companies. In recent study of goods and products; there was a scenerio where a high end clothing brand is using it's raw materai from waste and thrown clothes to make styslist bag that cost a serious bucks only because someone has vision to look into recycling the thrown objects.

In continuation, when it's observed from the global point of view the country's that seggregates it's waste are environmentally more sound than one's that does not. The practise of recycling can be a way of living or a resposibilty within, it cannot be taught. But for general awarness if it helps to understand better it also helps in reducing carbon footrpint as well as the improves in the demands of landfilling; which is a big support ecomonically in it's own like reducing taxes, imporving prices, etc.

In conslusion when poeple decides for better future for the sake of country's development is when the recycling abilities and environment sustainability can be progressed and be beneficial for further growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response recognises the topic and offers relevant points, including the potential value of waste as raw material and the environmental benefits of recycling. However, it only partially answers the two questions. The reasons people fail to recycle are not clearly explained; the essay mainly describes benefits of recycling instead. The proposed changes are also largely missing: saying recycling “cannot be taught” does not identify practical action by governments, communities, or individuals. The position that recycling matters is apparent, but the opening promise to explain “how” is not fulfilled with a developed response to both parts. To strengthen the answer, explain specific barriers, such as limited collection facilities or lack of awareness, then recommend and support practical measures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First and foremost” and “In continuation” signal movement between points, and the example about a clothing brand gives one paragraph a focus. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the body paragraphs discuss benefits rather than developing the causes and solutions requested, and the second paragraph shifts between environmental quality, personal responsibility, landfill, and economic effects. Some links are mechanical or unclear, including “While, people represents the nation” and “which is a big support economically in its own like.” Use topic sentences that directly answer each question, and connect each supporting example explicitly to its main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response attempts a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “raw material,” “carbon footprint,” “landfilling,” and “environmental sustainability.” The proverb “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” is also relevant to the discussion. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are frequent enough to distract, for example “ecomonic,” “seggregated,” “scenerio,” “styslist,” and “awarness.” Several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “at utmost prior importance,” “serious threat,” and “improving prices.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for recycling and policy, such as “make recycling a priority,” “waste collection facilities,” and “reduce landfill use.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

There are attempts to use complex structures, including a conditional clause (“When different categories of rubbish… are segregated and recycled”) and a relative clause (“which is a big support…”). Nevertheless, sentence control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, and clause construction recur. For example, “A lot of countries does not” should use a plural verb, while “different categories… is segregated” has a similar agreement problem. The sentence beginning “While, people represents the nation” is difficult to parse, and the long sentence about carbon footprint and landfill lacks a clear grammatical structure. Punctuation also interrupts meaning in places. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries.
