Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify two relevant causes: the cost of recycling and limited public awareness or access to bins. However, the response addresses only the “why” part of the prompt; it does not explain what should be done to increase recycling, and the ideas are not supported with reasons or examples. The opening also does not establish a clear, complete response to both questions. The required minimum length is not met: the response contains 79 words, so there is too little development to demonstrate a full answer. To improve, state your main causes clearly, then propose practical measures—such as providing convenient collection points and public education—and explain how each would help, using a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the topic, and “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “In addition” signal separate points. These markers give the reader some guidance, but the ideas remain a short list rather than a developed progression. The paragraphing does not clearly separate causes from solutions, and no solution section is provided. Some links are also awkward: “Thus” does not clearly explain how the cost point follows, while “In addition” introduces a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Organise the essay into an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, and a paragraph presenting solutions. Use linking phrases to show the relationship between complete ideas, not simply to list them.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “recycling,” “garbage,” “aware,” and “waste and recycle bins,” so the general subject is identifiable. However, the range is narrow and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes parts of the message difficult to interpret. For example, “substantial countries” does not express the intended idea, “recyclling” is misspelled, and “high amount of rates” is an awkward phrase. “Garbage every week” is also unclear in the context of public awareness. Build a more precise set of expressions for causes and solutions, such as “recycling costs,” “public awareness,” “collection facilities,” and “household waste,” and check spelling and collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt a few different sentence patterns, including a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “Thus” and a sentence with “Moreover.” However, control of basic sentence structure is inconsistent, and several errors make the intended meaning unclear. For instance, “There has substantial reasons” has incorrect agreement and an incomplete verb pattern, while “this is essay will discuss” has problems with the determiner and sentence construction. “In addition, lack of waste and recycle bins in wide range of areas” is a fragment without a main verb. Capitalisation after full stops is also inconsistent. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences first, then combine related ideas with accurate conjunctions. Check articles, agreement, and punctuation when proofreading.
