Student answer (Band 5.5)
No doubt , garbage is increasing day by day in countries that are not fully developed , it happend because lack of facilities and knowledge among people about cleanliness.
Hectic schedule , as we know innthis busy world everyone is running to make money people do not have enough time to distribute the garbage and recycle in different bins . Apart from this plethora of countries where government do not provide proper facilities for recycling , even local population do not aware about its distribution , for instance - in india where authorities donot provide bins for homes , people donot have enough information about recycling who are living in countryside areas and they throw it here and there which pollutes the environment and health of individuals also.
There are some solutions to mitigate this problem .first of all provide education at local level by showing the projector videos or models that how they can recycycling and how they can reduce their expenses and live a better life . Furthermore , it is the responsibility of the government that placing the bins at village level , stations , markets so that they can use things twice by this method and it will be advantageous for country 's economy and health also .
In conclusion , it is personal responsibility of every individual to differentiate the garbage and recycle with proper methods so that they can use things again and decline the level of garbage , by this everyone can stay happy and healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions: it identifies limited facilities, lack of public knowledge and people’s busy schedules as reasons, then proposes education and more recycling bins. The India example helps make the facilities and awareness points relevant. However, some ideas are only briefly explained. For example, the claim that recycling education could help people “reduce their expenses” is not clarified, and the proposed videos or models are not linked to how they would change everyday behaviour. The conclusion restates individual responsibility but does not add much to the solutions. To strengthen the response, explain the practical impact of each proposal and develop one example in more detail, while keeping the focus on why recycling is limited and how participation can increase.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The overall arrangement is clear: the opening introduces the issue, the next paragraph gives reasons, a separate paragraph presents solutions, and the conclusion summarises the main message. Linking expressions such as “Apart from this,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, some connections feel mechanical, and several ideas are crowded into long sentences, particularly the India example, which combines facilities, awareness, littering and health effects. The opening also moves quickly from the general problem to causes without a clear overview of the essay’s direction. Use shorter sentences to separate related points, and make references such as “this method” more precise so readers can follow how each solution connects to the problem.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “recycle,” “facilities,” “distribution,” “pollutes the environment,” and “mitigate this problem.” These choices make the subject clear, and some less common expressions show an effort to vary vocabulary. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation sometimes make the meaning awkward: “distribute the garbage” and “plethora of countries” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while “recycycling” appears to be a spelling or word-form error. There are also repeated uses of “people,” “garbage,” and “provide.” Aim for precise, natural combinations such as “sort household waste,” “many countries,” and “provide recycling services,” and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “people who are living in countryside areas” and a purpose clause beginning “so that.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but some sentence structures are faulty or difficult to control. For example, “it happend because lack of facilities” is missing a grammatical link, and “local population do not aware” lacks the required verb structure. Agreement and articles also need attention, as in “government do not provide” and “at village level.” Long sentences joined by commas make these problems harder to follow. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and separating complete ideas with full stops; then check articles, agreement and punctuation.
