Student answer (Band 5.0)

Lots of nation in the worldwide are facing the issue that folks are not followings proper garbage dumping policies as they should follow

As per my views , I am totally agree with this statement people are not applying proper waste dumping protocols firstly the government should not taking this issue very seriously and not making laws that help to change this situation in a positive way for an instance I volunteer as an eviroenmental activitis I take dumped the waste garbage that are on beaches and roads and explain the people around the area that they should clean or inform. if you see the garbage near the house or area beacause it is harmfull for people and bad for global warming so some people listen and do it while other are not doing it overall it can create a lot changes in my area previously they is bad smell of garbage are coming from street you do not like to walk but now scene is change because the effort of all the people

The government also slowly but now recognize this issue I also talked with my country mayor and officials about this issues we also had meeting in the town where only few selected people were invited they are dicussing about this topics and we all came up with conculsion that laws should be made and there should be 50 cad dollars fine if garbage are on the streets we also install the cctv camera so we can monitored who are throwing the garbage on the streets

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses both questions to some extent: it identifies weak government action and public non-compliance as reasons, then proposes fines and CCTV monitoring. The personal example of volunteering to clean beaches and roads also gives the discussion a relevant, concrete element. However, the explanation of why people fail to recycle is not consistently clear; the essay focuses more on littering and dumping than on recycling rubbish. The proposed measures are relevant, but their likely effect is asserted rather than explained, and the ideas about public awareness and enforcement need clearer development. A more explicit position and a fuller explanation of the causes and solutions would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response begins with the issue, moves to personal experience and government responsibility, and ends with proposed enforcement. However, the progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several different points are joined in long, unpunctuated sentences. For example, the account of volunteering shifts from explaining the problem to describing local improvements without clear transitions. Linking phrases such as “firstly,” “for an instance,” and “overall” are attempted, but they do not consistently show the relationship between ideas. Separate paragraphs for causes, personal or community action, and government solutions, with shorter sentences and clearer references, would improve the overall flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “waste dumping protocols,” “global warming,” “fine,” and “CCTV camera,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, such as “proper garbage dumping policies,” “take dumped the waste garbage,” and “a lot changes.” Spelling errors, including “eviroenmental,” “activitis,” and “conculsion,” also make the writing less clear and reduce precision. Aim for natural collocations connected specifically to recycling, such as separating household waste or providing recycling facilities, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts to connect ideas using longer sentences and subordinate clauses, but these structures are often faulty, and errors frequently make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “people are not followings,” “I am totally agree,” and “the government should not taking,” where verb forms are incorrect. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “the waste garbage that are on beaches,” followed by several clauses joined without full stops. Most sentences need more reliable control of basic verb forms, articles, and punctuation before adding complexity. Practise writing clear simple sentences first, then combine related ideas using accurate conjunctions and clause structures.
