Student answer (Band 5.5)

In some countries, people do not recycle the waste material as much as they could. There can be lots of reasons like lack of knowledge, lack of resourses.

I will discuss what cen be done to change this in the upcoming paragraphs.

First of all, the main reason of do not recycle their rubbish is lack of knowledge. In some nations, people do not know how to discard their household garbage. For example, in India, people do not know how to differenciate recycle product, food waste and garbage. They put everything in one garbage bag and throw that in the bin.

Moreover, Lack of resources, there are no such kind of law to put all the recycle in saperate bin. In many Countries, people do not have three different garbage disposal bins. People do not have proper resource to recycle their rubbish.

On the other hand, Governement has to make some strict rules about how to discard the garbage. They need to provide some knowlege to the citizens of the country, so they will know how to recycle their rubbish. For example, they need to motivate people why they need to recycle their rubbish to save this planet and how to reduce less plastic to save the environment. In addition to, every city has to make some rules and provide every house atleast two bins to discard their rubbish. There should be a fine if people do not follow the rules.

In conclusion, I would like to say that as good citizen of a country people has to do their best to save their country by recycling their rubbish and government should have provide awareness to them so they would know what product will go in their recycling bin after their use.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: you identify limited knowledge and inadequate recycling facilities as reasons, then suggest public education, separate bins and fines. The India example helps illustrate the knowledge problem, and your position that both citizens and government have responsibilities is clear. However, the causes and solutions are not developed equally. The point about resources is brief, and the claim that there are no laws is not explained or supported. Your proposed education and fines are relevant, but you could show more clearly how these measures would change everyday behaviour. To strengthen the response, explain each main idea with a specific consequence or example and make the link between the identified causes and proposed solutions explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, paragraphs on causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal the stages of your argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Moreover, Lack of resources, there are no such kind of law” is not a complete, smoothly linked sentence, and “On the other hand” suggests a contrast where you are actually moving from causes to solutions. The conclusion repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together. Use transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas, and make sure each paragraph develops one clear focus with references that are easy to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “household garbage,” “recycle,” “separate bin,” “fine,” and “environment,” so the reader can understand the main points. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors reduce precision. Examples include “differenciate recycle product,” “proper resource,” and “reduce less plastic”; these expressions are unclear or unnatural in context. Spelling errors such as “resourses,” “saperate,” and “Governement” also stand out. Build a more accurate set of phrases for waste management, such as sorting waste, recycling facilities and public awareness, and check spelling and word forms carefully. This will make your explanations clearer and less repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including “For example, in India…” and a sentence explaining what citizens need to know. The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles and verb forms occur across the response. For example, “the main reason of do not recycle” lacks a grammatical structure, while “people has to do their best” has a subject–verb agreement error. “Government should have provide awareness” also uses an incorrect verb form. Some sentences are fragments or awkwardly joined, such as “Moreover, Lack of resources, there are no such kind of law.” Practise building complete clauses and checking agreement and verb patterns, while retaining your attempts at longer sentences.
