Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, recycling goods have gain a huge popularity over the years. But in some nations people still don't recycle their rubbish. In my opinion this is because of lack of awarness regarding the recycling of products. This can be changed by educating people about how recycling is beneficial for environment and how essential it is to preserve our natural resources before they become extint.

To begin with, many people do not recycle their rubbish because of lack of knowledge. In many countries there no specific rules regarding recycling and rubbish collection, as a result people don't consider this important. For instance, In india there is not set rules to seprate their waste and many people are not aware how important it is .So people dump kitchen watse and other recyclable things together. Therefore, we can say that people are not educated enough and also because of lack of structure this is happening in many nations.

This can be changed by spreading awarness and educating people about how important it is to recycle the rubbish . Certain campaigns would help them to gain knowldge that how valuable recycling is and how its preventing our environment. For instance , Canada has fixed day to pickup recycled products such as bottles paper . If someone is not following the rules of seprating grabage, fine of $100 is imposed and as per the survey this has improved the sitution over 10% in a year.

In conclusion, lack of awarness is a reason why rubbish is not recycled in many countries. In my opinion bringing awarness through campagians would be a better idea and also if goverment imply strict rules regarding the recycling of goods. The rate of success will increase in terms of recycling.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both parts of the question: you identify limited awareness and a lack of clear recycling rules as reasons, then suggest education campaigns and penalties. Your examples about waste separation in India and collection rules in Canada help make the response relevant. The position is clear, especially in the introduction and conclusion. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, you say campaigns would show “how its preventing our environment,” but do not explain what environmental benefits people would learn about. The Canada example is specific, yet the link between the fine and the reported improvement could be clarified. Developing these explanations and showing more precisely how each measure changes behaviour would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from lack of knowledge and rules to education and enforcement is easy to follow, and phrases such as “To begin with,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” guide the reader. Some linking is mechanical or imprecise, however. In the first body paragraph, “as a result” connects the absence of rules to people’s attitudes, but the relationship could be explained more explicitly. The repeated use of “For instance” also gives the paragraphs a similar pattern. Improve cohesion by varying transitions and using clearer references to connect each example back to the main point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You communicate the main ideas using relevant topic vocabulary, including “recycle,” “natural resources,” “campaigns,” “separate,” and “fine.” There is also some attempt to use more formal expressions, such as “preserve our natural resources.” However, spelling errors are noticeable throughout, including “awarness,” “extint,” “seprate,” “knowldge,” and “sitution,” and these reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Some word combinations are also unnatural, such as “recycling goods have gain a huge popularity” and “how its preventing our environment.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “household waste,” “waste-sorting regulations,” and “environmental damage” would help express your ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple sentences and some longer structures, including cause-and-effect clauses with “because,” “as a result,” and “if.” This gives the response some variety, and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation remain noticeable. For example, “recycling goods have gain” needs a correct participle, while “In many countries there no specific rules” is missing a verb. The sentence beginning “If someone is not following the rules” is also awkwardly constructed, and several sentences run together or have inconsistent punctuation. Practise checking each sentence for a complete subject and verb, correct tense and agreement, and clear clause boundaries; this will make your complex sentences more controlled.
