Student answer (Band 6.0)
Environmental pollution is increasing enormously. Everyone must have to play their role in the protection of their surrounding. In many countries, people do not pay attention toward recycling of their waste material to the extent as they can do. This essay will demonstrate my opinion about this trend and possible suggestions which can be helpful to change this trend.
First and foremost, there is a lack of awareness among public about the protection of their envioronment. They do not know about the serious consequences of pollution on their health and environment. Additionally, people do not take it as a serious golbal issue and dispose off their waste material without recycling. They do not know the ways to recycle the rubbish. People think that it is not their responsibility to do this practice.
Conversely, proper compaigns and talkshows should be organised at international level about the importance of recycling and its positive impact on our surrounding. People have to be infromed how useful is this practice to reduce the waste. Students can participate in this practice by giving practical demonstrations. The Government can launch programs to train people about reduce, reuse, and recycle of waste material.
Overall, it's a very good practice to recycle rubbish instead of throwing it onto open places. It is the responsibility of every individual to keep their envioronment neat and clean. This is the only strategy which can save us and our generations from the life threatening results of pollution. We all shoud have to play a positive role in this regard.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you identify limited awareness and a belief that recycling is not an individual responsibility, then suggest campaigns, school demonstrations and government training. These ideas are relevant and your overall position—that recycling should be a shared responsibility—is clear. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, you mention that people “do not know the ways to recycle” but do not explain what practical barriers or information gaps this creates. The proposed campaigns and training would be stronger if you explained how they would change everyday behaviour, or added a specific example such as clearer local sorting instructions or convenient collection services. The response therefore covers the task, but develops some ideas more fully than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a concluding summary. The progression from reasons to actions is easy to follow, and signposts such as “First and foremost,” “Additionally” and “Overall” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some effective organisation. To make the progression more consistently smooth, avoid relying on formulaic transitions such as “Conversely,” which suggests a contrast even though the paragraph introduces solutions. Some ideas within the body paragraphs are listed rather than linked through explanation, so develop the relationship between each cause and its corresponding remedy. Clearer links between paragraphs and more precise referencing would make cohesion less mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “recycling,” “pollution,” “consequences,” “practical demonstrations” and “reduce, reuse, and recycle.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, and some choices show an attempt to use more formal language. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “envioronment,” “golbal,” “compaigns” and “infromed” should be corrected, while “talkshows” is not a natural choice for this context. Several phrases are also awkward or repetitive, such as “waste material” and “play their role.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and vary repeated terms. Proofreading spelling and checking phrases in context would make your vocabulary more reliable and clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple statements and some longer structures, including “They do not know about the serious consequences of pollution on their health and environment” and the sentence beginning “The Government can launch programs.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in basic patterns. For example, “Everyone must have to play” combines two modal forms; use “Everyone must play” or “Everyone has to play.” In “People have to be informed how useful is this practice,” the indirect question needs statement word order: “how useful this practice is.” There are also issues with articles and prepositions, as in “at international level” and “toward recycling.” Work on modal verbs, embedded questions and article use, while continuing to practise varied sentence forms.
