Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing debate going on which states that In different countries, people are not recycling their rubbish as much as they could. I completely agree with the above claim and think that changes need to be done in system to ensure people recycle more than normal. I will put forth some points in upcoming paragraphs to support my opinion.
To begin with, there are many countries in the world that are still undeveloped and lack many emerging technolgies. For example: a country like Nigeria where people throw litter, cans and plastic all together on roads because they donot have proper labelled dustbins in cities to throw their garbage, accordingly. Additionally, they sometimes burn it all together not knowing the consequences of it because of lack of knowledge. Moreover, another reason why people do not recycle their rubbish is that nobody makes them accountable for throwing or burning garbage and plastic together. Hence, governemnet should impose fine to the citizens who pose a threat to the environment
On the contrary, government should develop an education system in these countries so that people get aware and step forward to save the evironment rather than deteriorating its quality. Furthermore, government should construct donation centres in every city to collect waste products like toys, clothes, furniture so that it can be identified and sorted well by government employees. Later, it would be processed for recycling process.
To conclude, recycling of rubbish is not done properly in some countries as people are still illiterate and follows old traditional habits. Thus, it can be reduced by providing proper knowledge and accountability to them about the consequences of it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you suggest reasons for low recycling, including limited facilities and public awareness, and propose education, fines and collection centres. Your position that changes are needed is clear. The Nigeria example helps illustrate the problem of mixed waste, while the proposed centres give a practical response. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the link between being “undeveloped” and lacking recycling technology is broad, and the suggestion to impose fines would be stronger if you explained how enforcement could work. The donation-centre idea also focuses on reusable goods such as toys and furniture, so clarify how it would support recycling of ordinary household rubbish. Develop these points with specific cause-and-effect reasoning and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally clear, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Additionally” and “To conclude” help readers follow the discussion. However, some linking is mechanical or not quite logical. “On the contrary” introduces further solutions rather than a contrasting view, and “Moreover” adds another cause without making the relationship especially clear. The opening also repeats the task statement before presenting your position. Improve progression by grouping each cause with its explanation, then moving clearly to solutions, and use transitions that express the precise relationship between ideas. Check punctuation around linking phrases so the connections read smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “recycle,” “accountable,” “impose fine,” “donation centres” and “processed.” This is enough to communicate the main points, and some choices show an attempt to use more specific language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “changes need to be done,” “emerging technolgies,” “labelled dustbins,” and “recycling process.” Spelling errors including “governemnet” and “evironment” also reduce accuracy. Some expressions are vague, for example “recycle more than normal.” Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. Using terms such as “waste-sorting facilities” and “recycling infrastructure” would help express the ideas more clearly and appropriately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “countries that are still undeveloped” and a reason clause beginning “because.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems are noticeable. For example, “people … is” in the conclusion has a subject–verb agreement error, and “people get aware” uses an incorrect grammatical pattern. The sentence beginning “For example” is a fragment, while “I completely agree with the above claim and think that changes need to be done in system” has article and sentence-pattern problems. There are also run-on or missing-space issues, such as “knowledge.Moreover.” Work on agreement, articles, and complete sentence boundaries, while continuing to practise varied complex structures.
