Student answer (Band 5.5)

Environmental protection has become a major concern across the globe, due to increasing pollution and climate change.Nowadays, people have become less worried about recycling the waste which they could do more if they concenterate more. Before reaching a conclusion, I would discuss the reasons why this is happening along with the proper measues can taken to overcome this problem in the upcomming paragraphs.

There are myriad of reasons that will furture explain this argument, but the most preponderant one stems from the fact that is less awareness about recycling system. As people are less educated means they have less information about the recycling process. For example, people in Pakistan, collecting their garbage including recycling items such as plastic bottles and cups all together and garbage it as the same place. Another Important aspect is that people are getting careless.Although, people are aware about the negative effects and prople recycling system, they are still throwing at the same place. That is why recycling cycle is not working as per the expectations.

Steps to deal with the problem are many , the most significant ones are not complicated but accessible and practicle Governments should take some major steps to deal with the problem by showing practically in the awarenes centers and inform about the negatives of plastic pollution. Another measure can be taken by implementing high fines which can make it possible to do the recycle ststem in the proper manner.

According to the arguments aforementioned above, one can conclude that the proble of less recycling can be taken successfully addressed, iF THE ABOVE STATED MEASURES ARE TAKEN

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you identify limited awareness and careless behaviour as reasons, then suggest awareness campaigns and fines. The Pakistan example about mixed rubbish makes the first reason more concrete, and your conclusion restates that action is needed. However, the causes and solutions are not developed equally. The point that people are “getting careless” is asserted rather than explained, and the proposed awareness centres and fines lack detail about how they would change everyday recycling habits. The relationship between awareness and the example could also be made clearer. To strengthen the response, explain one cause in more depth and show how each proposed measure would address it, using a specific practical example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to identify. You also use signposting such as “For example,” “Another measure,” and “According to the arguments,” to connect points. However, some transitions feel mechanical or unclear. “Although” introduces a sentence without a clear contrast, while “There are myriad of reasons that will furture explain this argument” does not smoothly lead into the first cause. The final sentence is also difficult to follow because it combines a conclusion with an unclear reference to the measures. Use simpler, more precise links and ensure each paragraph develops its central point in a clear sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related and formal vocabulary, including “environmental protection,” “recycling process,” “plastic pollution,” and “implementing high fines.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, several less common expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “preponderant one,” “garbage it as the same place,” and “do the recycle ststem.” Spelling errors—including “concenterate,” “measues,” and “upcomming”—also reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Some phrases are unnecessarily elaborate, which makes the meaning less clear. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; straightforward wording such as “main reason” or “dispose of it in the same place” would communicate your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “the waste which they could do more” and a conditional idea in “if the above stated measures are taken.” However, control of sentence structure and punctuation is uneven, and some errors make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “As people are less educated means they have less information” combines two structures incorrectly; “the most preponderant one stems from the fact that is less awareness” is missing a grammatical link; and “Governments should take some major steps … by showing practically” has an unclear construction. There are also run-on sentences and missing spaces after full stops. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them with clear connectors and consistent punctuation.
