Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all three bullet points of the task. You clearly explain the situation regarding transport difficulties, state your desire to continue the course next term, and ask for advice/assistance regarding a transfer to the morning section. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed; for instance, the explanation of why you cannot afford a vehicle is a bit repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that your reasons are clearly linked to the request for a schedule change. Overall, the purpose of the letter is clear and the requirements are met.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your points. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'Therefore', and 'In addition to this' to connect ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or forced. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'I have any option to attend this course which is running next term', where the intended meaning is slightly obscured by the phrasing. Improving the flow between sentences would help achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have an adequate range of vocabulary to communicate your message, such as 'enrolled', 'facility', and 'adjust'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'transport facility go to my college' instead of 'transport to get to college' and 'I also do my study continue' instead of 'I would like to continue my studies'. These errors do not impede communication, but they limit the precision of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more natural collocations would improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms ('I would like to my study continue'), articles, and prepositions ('in the evening time'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after periods and commas. While the meaning remains understandable, the frequency of these errors is noticeable. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct placement of modifiers in your sentences.
