My name is Kritika, and I am writing this letter to inform you that I cannot continue my evening course currently due to my busy work schedule instead I will be pursue this in my next term. Recently, my manager gave me a lot of work to finish and I have been very busy with that. Thus, I will not be able to concentrate on my studies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining the situation, stating your desired outcome, and asking for advice. However, the response is under the 150-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While the ideas are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped due to the brevity of the letter. To improve, you should expand on the specific nature of your work commitments or provide more detail regarding the course to ensure you comfortably exceed the word count and provide a more comprehensive response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter follows a logical structure with a clear opening and closing. Paragraphing is used to separate the situation from the request, which helps the reader follow your points. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat basic. For example, the transition 'Thus' is used correctly, but the overall flow between sentences could be improved with a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', or 'in light of this'). The progression of ideas is clear, but the limited length prevents a more sophisticated development of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using appropriate formal phrases such as 'I hope this letter finds you well' and 'I would be grateful'. However, there are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'I will be pursue this' (should be 'I will pursue this') and 'give me refund' (should be 'give me a refund'). To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to professional or academic contexts rather than relying on simple, repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of your writing. For instance, 'I am sincerely apologize' is incorrect (should be 'I sincerely apologize'), and the sentence 'If these suggestions will not work then could you give me any advice' contains a tense error ('will not work' should be 'do not work'). Increasing your control over verb tenses and sentence construction will help improve your score in this criterion.
