Dear principal,
I hope this letter finds you well .
As you may know that , I recently enrolled for evening classes for the business management course but i am afraid that due to busy schedule i will not be able to attend the course and I would like to save up for the next term.
I am an international student for me study and part-time job both are as much as important to me as this term has all the evening classes and i have job during the evening hours that makes even worse because due to job i will not able to concentrate on my study and i am afraid to fail this course that is the only reason that i want to signup the same course for the next term till that time i have enough money to save up and i do not have to reliable on this job.
I am requesting you to cancel this term for me and give me the seat in the next term , As a principal of this university you have all the solutions to solve the problems and i am hoping that if you have any solution for me to continue this course for this term then i will be more happy to take that chance.
Yours sincerely,
Yuk

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response covers all three bullet points of the prompt. You clearly explain the situation regarding your busy schedule and the conflict with your part-time job. You state your intention to defer to the next term and ask for advice regarding the situation. The tone is appropriate for a formal letter, and the purpose is clear throughout. To reach a higher band, ensure that your explanation of the conflict is more concise, as the current explanation is slightly repetitive, which makes the logic feel a bit circular. However, all requirements of the task are fully addressed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body, and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'As you may know' and 'As a principal', to connect ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by long, run-on sentences, particularly in the second paragraph. The use of punctuation is inconsistent, which makes the progression of ideas feel slightly mechanical at times. To improve, use more varied transition words and break up long, complex sentences into shorter, clearer ones to help the reader follow your argument more easily.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'enrolled', 'international student', and 'concentrate'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'save up for the next term' (which is slightly unnatural in this context) and 'reliable on this job' (should be 'rely on'). While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your writing. To achieve a higher band, focus on using more natural collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include missing articles ('I have job'), subject-verb agreement errors ('study and part-time job both are as much as important'), and run-on sentences caused by comma splices and lack of proper punctuation. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb will significantly improve your accuracy.
