Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
For this criterion, your response falls below the required length minimum, as it contains only 86 words instead of the specified 150 words. Because of this severe under-length issue, the task is only minimally addressed. While you attempt to touch upon the situation by mentioning that you are too busy and asking for a seat adjustment, the ideas remain extremely limited and under-developed. You do not fully explain why you cannot continue the course, nor do you properly ask for advice about what you can do about the situation. To improve, you must ensure you write at least the minimum word count and expand upon each bullet point in the prompt with clear, fully developed details and explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.0
In terms of coherence and cohesion, your response lacks a logical overall progression and clear organization. The text is written as a single brief block without proper paragraphing, and the sentences jump abruptly between ideas, such as moving from asking the admin for a seat adjustment to discussing job routines. Furthermore, there is an absence of appropriate cohesive devices, making it difficult for the reader to follow your flow of thought. Referencing is also unclear throughout the response, as pronouns like 'they' and 'it' often lack clear antecedents. To achieve a higher band, you need to structure your letter with clear paragraphs, use appropriate linking words to connect your ideas logically, and ensure that your referencing is precise and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your lexical resource shows a basic and repetitive range of vocabulary. Words such as 'manage', 'adjust', and 'evening' are repeated frequently, which limits your ability to express your ideas with precision. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'shift me on evening' instead of 'transfer me to the evening class' or 'find alternative job that working time in morning routine'. These lexical inaccuracies and limitations sometimes strain the reader's understanding. To improve your lexical score, you should expand your vocabulary to include less common, topic-specific terms related to course registration, rescheduling, and work schedules, while paying close attention to correct word combinations and phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your grammatical range and accuracy are constrained by a very limited range of sentence structures. Most of your sentences are basic, and your attempts at more complex structures are heavily flawed, such as in the opening phrase 'if i enrolled in evening,in this case i Will request the admin that i can't manage'. You also make frequent errors in punctuation, capitalization, verb forms, and prepositions throughout the text. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and sometimes obscure your intended meaning. To reach a higher level, you need to demonstrate a greater variety of grammatical structures, ensure correct subject-verb agreement and tense usage, and eliminate basic punctuation and capitalization errors.
