Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you explain that full-time work during the peak season prevents you from attending evening classes, state that you want to continue next term, and ask the professor for suggestions. The purpose is clear and relevant throughout. The explanation of your future study plan is also specific: you say you may resign and focus on the course. However, this plan is not fully clear or developed, since it is uncertain whether resigning is a definite decision or only a possibility. The request for advice could also be more focused by asking about options such as deferring enrolment or transferring to the next term. These details would make the letter more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter follows a sensible overall order: it introduces your situation, explains the work conflict, describes your intended plan, and ends by asking for advice. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and the reader can follow the main message. Some links between ideas are less smooth, however. For example, “In the next term I will decide to give resign from my job” follows the wish to study next semester but does not clearly show whether this is a firm plan or a possibility. The repeated use of “But” and “because” also makes connections feel mechanical, and the closing could be separated more clearly from the request. Use a wider range of linking expressions and make the relationship between each idea explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “full time,” “Peak Season,” “evening classes,” “next semester,” and “focus on my PSW course.” These choices communicate the main circumstances and intentions. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “persue,” “couse,” “wonderning,” and “abiut.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “take an admission,” “give resign,” and “more clarification about my studies.” Aim to learn common collocations for formal requests and study arrangements, and check spelling carefully. More accurate phrasing would help you express your ideas with less effort for the reader while retaining the relevant vocabulary you already use.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including the explanation beginning “Because of the Peak Season” and the sentence about your plans for next term. The main message remains understandable, but errors in sentence construction and verb forms are noticeable. For example, “my company nor allowed me working Part time” has an incorrect negative structure and verb pattern, while “I do not have a time for my evening inperson classes” has problems with article use and sentence phrasing. The sentence beginning “In the next term” also combines several ideas without a clear grammatical structure. Practise forming complete clauses and using consistent verb patterns, then check punctuation and capitalisation so that longer sentences remain easy to follow.
