Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you explain that changed shift hours and a heavy workload prevent attendance, state that you want to take the course next term, and ask how to withdraw and what the consequences would be. The reason is relevant and understandable, and your interest in the marketing course adds useful context. This meets the task well, with some elements more fully covered than others: the work conflict is explained, but your preferred study arrangement could be clearer—for example, whether you want to defer your enrolment or formally withdraw and re-enrol. The request for advice is present, though it would be stronger if you asked about specific procedures or deadlines. A clearer, more fully developed plan would make the letter more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter follows a generally sensible order: you introduce the problem, explain the changed work schedule, describe your interest in the course, and finish by asking for help. Paragraph breaks also separate these main points. However, progression is weakened by repetition: the change to your work hours is mentioned in both the opening and the next paragraph, while phrases such as “According to me” and “As per i earlier mention” do not clearly connect the ideas. Some sentences run together without appropriate spacing or punctuation, making the flow less smooth. Use straightforward links such as “As a result” and “Although I enjoy the course,” and avoid repeating information so each paragraph advances the request.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the situation, including “evening classes,” “work hours,” “enrollment,” and “next term.” You also try to express more specific ideas with phrases such as “work burden” and “marketing stuff,” but several choices are unnatural or imprecise, and spelling errors are noticeable: “becaue,” “leran,” “buisness,” and “skils.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause, although the main message remains understandable. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, “heavy workload” is more idiomatic than “lot of work burden,” and “business-related skills” is clearer and more formal than “business related skils.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “however.” The main meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur across sentence structures, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For instance, “my work hours is changed” should use a plural verb and a more suitable tense, while “Before enrollment in this course work hours are different” lacks clear sentence structure. The opening also joins clauses with a comma, and several sentences need spaces after punctuation. These recurring problems can make parts of the letter difficult to read. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then combine them with correctly punctuated clauses.
