Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you explain that a new full-time role and your father’s accident have made attendance difficult, state that you want to resume next term, and ask the academy for a resolution. The request is clear, and the details make the situation relevant. This meets the task well, with some elements more fully covered than others: the reasons for stopping are specific, while your preferred study arrangement is less precise. For example, clarify whether you are asking to defer your enrolment, transfer your fees, or reserve a place next term. The statement about covering “all my missing subjects” also needs explanation, as it is unclear how this relates to restarting the course.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure, moving from the purpose and circumstances to your future study plans and a closing request. Paragraphing helps separate these points, and expressions such as “As a result” show some awareness of how to connect ideas. However, some links are mechanical or do not express the intended relationship: “Unlike this” does not clearly introduce your father’s accident, and “Likewise” is not a natural link to your reason for wanting to study. The opening also combines several ideas in one paragraph, while the final request could be more directly connected to the specific action you want. Use simpler, more precise transitions and make each paragraph’s purpose clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to explain your circumstances and goals, including “promoted,” “warehouse technician,” and “achieve my dreams.” There are also attempts at more formal language, such as “at your earliest convenience.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “restart my evening course” conflicts with the idea of postponing it, “workpressure” is not the usual form, and “on my engineering field” does not express your meaning naturally. “Scenerio” is also misspelled. Choose standard phrases for course administration and career goals, and check spelling and collocations so the reader can understand your request without having to infer your meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “As a result, he is unable to go for work.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and naturalness. For example, “I am not able to restart … that I have enrolled in” uses an unsuitable verb form and clause structure; “I wish I would like to restart” combines two incompatible constructions; and “it help me” has a subject–verb agreement error. Tense and conditional forms also need attention in “When I got a chance … I will cover.” Review verb patterns after “wish,” agreement with singular subjects, and punctuation spacing. More consistently accurate sentences would strengthen the letter.
