Dear Satnam,
I am writing this letter in regarding to my enrollment of Human Resource Management evening class. Currently, I am having a heavy workload, due to which I have to do over time work, which make me unable to attend the class this term. Thus, I want to defer my course for January intake.
I am still interested in this course as it helps me to improve my HR skill as well as increase my connect and network with big companies. Moreover, for getting the point for visa process i need to complete this course. For that, I want to defer the course . I would request , if you guide me the process for defer and payment which made for the course will reflect in next term. Also I want to know the availability of classes in January intake.
Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to hear you soon.
Faithfully,
Devvrat Chavda

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The letter addresses all three requirements: you explain that a heavy workload and overtime prevent attendance, state that you want to defer to the January intake, and ask for guidance about the deferral process, payment, and class availability. Your continued interest in the course and its relevance to your HR skills and visa process also support your request. The purpose is clear throughout, and the tone is generally appropriate for writing to someone who can advise you. To make the response more fully developed, explain briefly whether you are asking to transfer your existing payment or whether any additional fee may apply, and clarify what advice you need if a January place is unavailable. This would make the request more precise and complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The information follows a clear progression: you introduce the course and the problem, explain why you still want to study, and then make practical requests before closing politely. Linking expressions such as “Thus” and “Moreover” help show how the ideas relate. The main opportunity is to make the organisation less repetitive and the links between points more natural. For example, “For that, I want to defer the course” repeats the earlier statement that you want to defer to January. You could use a separate paragraph for the reason you cannot attend and another for your requested arrangements, then combine the questions about payment and class availability into a concise, clearly ordered request.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a suitable range of vocabulary for the situation, including “heavy workload,” “defer,” “visa process,” and “availability,” and the reader can understand the main message. There are also attempts to express specific benefits, such as improving your HR skills and building a professional network. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “in regarding to,” “over time work,” “increase my connect,” and “reflect in next term.” These choices make parts of the letter less fluent, even though they do not prevent understanding. Aim to learn common formal-letter phrases and natural collocations, such as “regarding my enrolment,” “work overtime,” “expand my professional network,” and “be transferred to the next term.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the reason clause “due to which I have to do…” and the sentence beginning “as it helps me…”. The overall meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “which make me unable” needs subject–verb agreement (“which makes me unable”), and “I look forward to hear you” requires a gerund (“hearing from you”). There are also issues with articles and sentence construction in “I would request, if you guide me the process,” which would be clearer as “I would appreciate it if you could guide me through the process.” Check verb forms, agreement, and punctuation around embedded requests to improve accuracy while retaining varied sentence structures.
